Monday as I was driving home my mother-in-law calls to tell me that she received a phone call from Bradley. Bradley is John's half-brother whom we have never met. Johnny (John's dad) married Faye (Bradley's mom) when John was about 10. They were married for 3 months when she cheated on him with his brother. He left, divorced her and never looked back. Two years ago he was sued for 17 years of back child support. He requested a DNA test and it was determined that Bradley was indeed his child, making him John's half brother. We then all tried to contact him. His mother would hang up on us each and every time. Monday Bradley called Florence (Johnny's wife, my mother-in-law) and said that he heard his dad had died. He asked if there was a will and if he was left anything. Florence told him there was no will because he had nothing to leave (because he had everything jointly just for this purpose). He asked about John. She gave him our phone number. When I got home he was at my house with his fiance and my husband. We talked for a few hours and we gave him pictures of his dad. (aaahhh, nice of us) He brought his mother to our house yesterday (the woman that wanted nothing to do with us) for dinner. I told John to watch out because he was asking about the cost of things such as my ring, John's Dan Marino/Ricky Williams autographed helmet, our 36" and 32" TVs, the new computer, etc. Well, today he came over and asked for $5000!!!! WTF!!! John told him he didn't have that kind of money to give away. So, I figure he'll keep coming around for a week and then he'll disappear again. John is so hurt. Damn him for trying to take advantage of someone who just lost his last natural parent!! Damn him to hell if there is one
