i guess i haven't put up one of these things in a while. i drew something and coloured it and you can look at it under the cut if you like. there is also a bit of boring procedural stuff under the cut that i've recorded for posterity, and you might want to skip that bit.

loomer is my favorite. i was sad that they didn't play it in concert since it is probably the most abrasive song on that record and would have been ace live (since their live show is mainly about being really really loud apparently).

god i love every song on that record sooo much. it's hard to pick favorites. only shallow was the first mbv song i ever heard and it is still amazing, though... something about that chaotic howling riff undergirded by the driving, sinuous bass line and the four drum hits bringing it all crashing down around your head again. i also like how there's a sort of one-upmanship in loudness by following only shallow with loomer... "and if you thought that was unlistenable, here's your ears getting scraped out with steel wool."

there's also something that's really ginchy about what you want as a penultimate track.

i really do not understand people who think that mbv is just a bunch of unlistenable feedback experimentation, though.

haha, that wasn't gushy at all now was it. eventually i'll post about the concert (disappointing) and then things will even out.
