this is the way to end a summer.
This is a scary and exciting feeling.
I wrote a song yesterday. The way it came was unusual -- instead of sitting with a notebook and hammering out lyrics that aren't especially convincing, I randomly came up with a few notes on guitar and a wordless vocalisation in between some spaces, and then after writing down the notes, I started scribbling some lyrics and they just all came together and were reasonably okay to me.
Tonight, I recorded it. In an hour, all by myself, me singing and a loop of me playing some notes on an acoustic guitar. It's not very good, and it is very simple, but it's me and it's my song, and I have it on an mp3. And that is, in my opinion, a great way to cap off a self-induced-ly underwhelming summer.
