Post-OotP # 5: Ties

Harry/Ginny; Post-OotP; General, Humour

Not really fluff, as magnolia_mama points out, as it's got a sharpness to it I quite like, but nonetheless I think it's certainly got a light-hearted feel to it. This story was written a while ago, and finished at 3 am on a saturday night, so it may have mistakes I didn't even notice ( Read more... )

Aww, sweet. A slight slump in the middle of the story, but nothing a bit of careful editing would not lift. Also noticed a couple of verbs not agreeing, but again, a close edit would fix these.

Sweet story, I like the tie theme that ran through it. Yay!

Be merry!

But if inspiration hits at 3am, you must write! :D

Aw, this was very sweet. I had a big silly grin on my face from it actually.
;) I loved the wrinkled tie effect. Hmm.. Maybe we should trademark that.. WTE. LOL

Nice. Interesting (in a good way *g*). I was a bit worried at first when I read your cut-tag line, because I was afrid Ginny was going to turn out to be the sort of girl who bullies her fellow to get him to do her bidding, and I hate that. You came close a couple of times, but not so close I couldn't enjoy how Ginny does push Harry. I like the stream-of-consciousness rhythm you slip into every now and then; it made me feel as though I could share Harry's sense of, "How do I get off this bloody runaway train?"

I'm not sure I'd characterize this as fluff -- not angst, certainly, but it's almost a bit too sharp to be fluffy.

But, yes, I enjoyed it. :-)

I agree - it's not exactly what I'd label as 'fluff', either, but I couldn't think of another adjective for it. I was aiming for something a little bit different from my usual H/G stuff - not sugary sweet, but not angsty, either, and that sharpness you mention is what I came up with. I like it though, and I'm glad that you do too! :)

Your work always makes me smile, or be woeful in sympathy, or something. This was definitely a grin. Thank you.
(and I'm using one of your icons - what is this, Cali day or something?)

ACK. I'm not even sure how I wandered in here, but I'm glad I did. I enjoyed this immensely, but wah, I can't seem to think of something coherent to say. Um, yeah, it wasn't fluff, exactly, it's a bit more substantial than that. A really really refreshing change from some of the monotonously fluffy H/G stuff out there. I go now to read more. :)

To be fair, I've written my share of sappy H/G, too. It's just, this ship has so much potential (for, I don't know, 'sauciness' maybe?) but it's so rarely exercised. Then again, maybe people are afraid of stepping into OOC territory. (Which I may have done in this fic, sooooooo.... I should just stop talking now :P)

In any case, glad you liked it, and WELCOME, WAYWARD WANDERER TO MY REALM OF WICKED SIN.

PS: I like your art *points at the icon*

I'm certainly not opposed to well-written fluff, but a lot of the crapfluff I come across out there makes me want something DIFFERENT. I completely agree that the H/G sauciness potential is underexploited, and I can see why. It'd be hard to really nail the characterisation. BUTTTT, so much fluff is so OOC that I don't really know what to think anymore. I like your representation of these characters here, even if they may be slightly OOC. Harry's a sexy beast and Ginny's saucy as she should be, and that PLEASETH ME. I can see it happening, so there. :P

YAY, I shall friend this journal, if it's alright with you. :)

omg icon!! ♥ you rock.
