Kids These Days

For xmas, I gave my nephews each a bag of gold chocolate coins, with $20 in dollar coins mixed in. Kinda awesome, right?

My sister reported the following exchange when she gave them to the kids. They're 12 and 14, but live in Oklahoma, and might be a bit sheltered...

Nephews: Oh boy, chocolate coins!
Sister: ... yeah, but they kind of clink like money, don't they?
Nephews: Those are just quarters.
Sister: You'd better take a closer look.
Nephews: looks Are...are these fake?
Sister: what? read what it says on that coin!
Nephews: hesitantly "One Dollar..."?
Sister: what else?
Nephews: "United States..."?
Sister: rolls eyes guys, that is currency. Real money.
Nephews: oh. But my wallet doesn't have a zipper pouch.
Sister: whasdfk, put them in your pockets, then!
Sister's husband: Maybe we could trade these in for twenties at the bank...
Nephews: Yeah!
Sister: What? No! It's money! Normal money! You're going to spend it at a store and like it!
