two things i've read and loved this week:
Training Measures by
ephermeralk (2k, NC-17, j2 - military porn with commander!jensen and trainee!jared, and so so good)
Not even close by

And this seems to carry over into fandom. I've been devoted to SPN/SPN RPF for nine years now. But now the show is so bad! So baaaaaad. So bad even I cannot endure it any longer. And on the RPF side everyone is married to girls and popping out children and so many RPF stories start there, which. Look. It's make believe, but. I don't know. I miss the days when neither were dating and living and vacationing together and humping each other in the press line. You know? I'm obscenely greedy, is what that is.
I'll still read the fic forever, obviously, but not as much is being written that appeals to me. There are still some writers, yourself PROMINENTLY among them, thank god, but I have hours upon hours of procrastination to fill and there simply aren't enough new stories anymore. There haven't been for a few years, really.
It's only in the past four months or so that I finally conceded defeat and read a handful of stories in other fandoms to see if any stuck. I enjoyed the Teen Wolf Sterek the most (yay Stiles! especially!), and while I'm now watching four shows holy shit, the only one I feel even vaguely fandom-y about is maybe Continuum. Which, so far as I can tell, doesn't actually have a fandom. Or at least no fandom with any m/m presence.
I used to feel super guilty for not really reading fandom-y m/f or f/f romance, but now I tell myself hey, 99% of all the books, movies, tv shows, cartoons and milk cartons I have encountered in my life have been strictly m/f, so I should be able to be picky about this one thing in this one field. Um. Right? Right? Sure! Whatever.
That said, how the crap do people write for fourteen different fandoms simultaneously? And well? Answer: they're a witch!
