[Alexia has spent most of the past week either working through the library, or casing the network for likely suspects. At the moment she is in the sunny kitchen, looking quite gravely serious.]Suppose this effect did last permanently ( Read more... )

... I suppose I would be mildly inconvenienced, but I'm still able to defend myself with martial arts and swordsmanship. Although I would think that many people would overreact and barge into the Inner city to get their powers back, so I suppose going with them to make sure nothing stupid happens would probably count as the second part of your first question...

They would? What exactly do mean by "stupid" happenings?

Yes. Though finding any flour that isn't rotted is proving to be a task.

Such as, getting themselves killed. A lot of people are defenseless without their abilities. Not everyone knows how to fight.

Yes, unfortunately. I would love a good, homemade loaf of bread.

Are they under the impression that fighting some sort of battle will get their abilities back?

Yes. [It does not do to complain, especially in this circumstance, but-] The lack of food is proving the most distressing aspect of the city.

I believe so. I mean, no one goes after the Animus when they've died and lost an important ability. And I doubt anyone here has any proper means of fighting spirits like the Animus, anyway. It's not even guaranteed that they are spirits.

... it's the first thing that a lot of people have to come to terms with. Fortunately for me, I grew up in a village where we did all of our own farming, but even here, that can prove difficult.

Would you say that's the case for everyone, or nearly everyone, here?

Nearly everyone, I'd say. There are plenty of intelligent people here that know better.

A problem that, while distressing, can be worked through without hysterics.

Of course, there are always a few unnecessary dramatics, but they can be taken in stride.

My class back at home is full of unnecessary dramatics. I know exactly what you mean.
