Opiate of the Masses
Well I just finished watching the season finale of Prison Break, which I have to say was bloody excellent (but more on that a little bit later !!) and I thought I would do a little post on all of the TV shows I am currently or have recently been watching !! :P
Anyway I will try and keep any massive spoilers to a minimum but I warn you in advance there might be a few little ones that sneak in, so thats why it's under a cut. Well that and when I start talking I don't tend to stop, so I don't wanna take up the whole page !! he he

PRISON BREAK
OMG what a season finale that was, it seemed to go on forever, but in a good way because sooooo much happened. I had never seen an episode of Prison Break until about 2 months ago when someone at work convinced me to watch S1. So of course I did that and haven't looked back since, I watched the whole of season 1 in a week, just sat up all night trying to cram in as many episodes as I could so I could get on to watching S2 as soon as possible.
Season 2 has been soo good and every episode left me with a sharp intake of breath right at the very end and I have found the wait in between each week to be so painful. I don't usually ship "straight" couples, the only one I ever have shipped in the past was Scully/Mulder, but for Sarah and Michael I will make an exception because they are such a cute couple. They have been through so much this season and they deserve to be together, but as this season finale proves it doesn't look they are gonna get that anytime soon.
I want S3 to start ASAP coz I am gonna go crazy without my weekly fix of the amazing Fox River boys !! :)
THE L WORD
Hmm don't really know what to say about the L word, I still haven't decided whether I really liked Season 4 or not, it had some really good bits but then the bad bits were like soooo bad that I really did feel like turning it off.
I love Papi and Tasha, I know alot of people complain about new characters but I think these 2 have fitted in really well into an already established cast. I also loved Alice alot this season, I thought she had some really funny lines and wasn't as annoying as she has been in previous seasons. Although her character was a little bit of a bitch this season, Tina was still so freakin hot , which is more to do with the fact that Laurel Holloman is the height of sexy !! he he. Jenny pissed me off so much, I am finding it hard to even find the words to explain how much I hate her, this season would of been so much better if she just, Oh I don't know, dropped off the end of the planet.
I am not all that sad that this season has come to an end, I will miss watching it a little but I am not distraught that it is no longer on and can quite easily wait until next January for the new season to begin.
DIRT
What a little unknown treasure this show has been, I heard about it here on LJ when someone was talking about it, but before that I had no clue what this show was or even what it was about. I heard that it had Carly Pope in and she played a lesbian/bisexual girl so of course this sparked my interest and I gave it a go.
I am so glad I did because this show has become one of my new all time favourite shows. For anyone who hasn't seen this show it is about a total bitch magazine editor played by Courtney Cox, and it kind of a black comedy, but kinda without the comedy, so more of a drama, but with a crazy little twist. Hmm it is really hard to explain this show, you just kinda have to see it to know what I mean, but I do warn you it is a very acquired taste and you will either love this show or hate it, I really don't think there is any inbetween. It is cheap and tacky and the story lines are so cliche, but thats what makes this show so amazing.
My favourite character is Don, who is a schizophrenic photographer, who believes he is having sex with a dead actress, who then gave birth to kittens..............see I told you this show was random !! he he
It only had a short season and I am really gutted that it has ended, this is one of the shows that I looked forward to downloading every week. Can't wait for S2 to come on..........Did I mention I love this show !!
COLD CASE
I will always love Cold Case and will continue to watch it but I hate that it has now turned into an ensemble show and is not all about Lilly like it used to be. Anyone who has ever watched this show will know that it was about Lilly Rush and he "quest" to solve every unsolved murder and all of the others were there to help her. Well obviously all of the other actors didn't like that they weren't getting their 5 mins of fame so to speak so now every single character seems as equal as the other and Lilly is no longer the main character.
This sucks immensely, I mean it really really sucks, this show worked so well because it wasn't about a whole Police Department. It worked well because it was about one woman's work trying to save the world one murder at a time. Now it feels like any other show Cop show on TV and has lost the fresh edge that it once had.
There hasn't been one episode this season that has stuck in my mind, unlike previous seasons where I can practically remember them all, it kinda feels like they have run out of storylines and they are just scrapping the barrel for something to do.
We are close to the end of the season, and it will only be redeemed if it has one bitch ass killer of a season finale that leaves me on the edge of my seat, but I won't hold my breath.
As long as the lovely Kathryn Morris remain in this show I will continue to watch, but please please TPTB don't let this show go down the pan !
WITHOUT A TRACE
This season started off a little slow but whoa has gotten so much better recently, the recent Elena and Sam storylines have been a welcome release from the same boring "vanishings" that seemed to fill the end of last season and the beginning of this one.
I can take or leave this show, ok maybe thats a little bit harsh, what I mean is when I download it I don't always watch it straight away and will sometimes leave it a couple of days before I get onto it. I do like this show, I just don't feel really passionate about it like I do some of the others. I love all of the flashback scenes and they are one of the main reasons I still keep watching, well that and Poppy Montgomery who is absolutely stunning, and when she gets her gun out I am reminded why I watch this show :)
LOST
I hated Lost, I mean really hated it and would not have mention of it in my house because I thought the whole concept was so flipping ridiculous. I watched the first episode of Season 1 when it first aired, hated it and never watched it again until 2 weeks ago.
With The L Word and Dirt coming to an end I needed to find a new show to watch to help me pass the days, so I thought I would give Lost a chance to redeem it's self and downloaded all 3 seasons.
Wow I have watched all of S1 & S2 and up to episode 14 of S3 all in 11 days and I am absolutely in love with this show, I mean obsessed with it, can't get enough of it.
I have gone from hating this show to spending all my days looking around message boards looking for ways to express my love of the concept of this show, all in the space of under 2 weeks, what a turn up for the books.
I won't go into any details of Lost here because you either watch it and know "exactly" what is going on or you hate it and couldn't care less, all I will say is OMG OMG OMG could this show actually get any better..........I doubt it !!!
I will add that if you hate this show please do give it another shot, you might be pleasantly surprised !!
CSI- LAS VEGAS
This is a tough one and thats why I have left it till the end. I love this show and the concept so it is really is hard for me to say anything bad about it , but I am afraid I am gonna have to.
So shoot me if your a GSR shipper but really as far as I can see putting those two together has really been the downfall of this season. CSI worked because it wasn't a character driven show it was a case driven show so when you start putting characters together it just messes things up. GSR shippers will argue with you till their blue in the face, or until your so bored you wanna shoot yourself that GSR is subtle, subtle my ass, that shit is forced down my throat and frankly it's making me loose interest in the show.
I am interested in the whole Miniature Killer ongoing storyline and I am really hoping for an amazing season finale, and I am also looking forward to the return of Lady Heather, but other then that none of the storylines this season have really caught my attention, not like they have in previous years.
As long as the gorgeous and oh so talented Marg remains in this show I will keep watching, but please please please dear god don't let this show turn into "At home with the Grissom's" where we get to see Sara and Grissom being all cute with each other coz if that happens I will boycott TV for good.
Right now I need you guy's help. I am an obsessive TV watcher and if I am not downloading something every day and watching it , then I really do get withdrawal symptoms and now that I am up to date with Prison Break and Lost, and Dirt and The L Word have finished I need some other stuff to keep me entertained.
So please can you guys give me suggestions of what I should go for next, as you probably know I love my American drama's but other then that I am not picky, so any suggestions are good, doesn't have to be a new show, can be an old one thats not even on any more. All I ask is that they are not shows with just 1 season under their belts(unless it's something you really think I would love!!), coz I want something where I can download loads all at once and spend 2 weeks solid watching them all :)
