The human obsession with the divine, and our connection thereto, interests me greatly.
Is it the height of Narcissism?
Or is it the height of Humility?
To think that we were created by someone perfect, perhaps even in his/her image -- even to think that he/she would care about us, or that he/she were even a he or she at all -- this would suggest the first.
But to imagine someone so much greater than we -- to believe in a being that embodies such an impertainable perfection -- this would suggest the latter. Especially when you come across phrasing such as, "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God..."
Then again, you have Revelation, which states that you must be either hot or cold, for if you are neither you are lukewarm and God will spew you from his mouth and have nothing to do with you...
Now, taking these things into consideration...does that mean that believing in [the Christian] God displeases Him?
