Gau just slumped further.

"No...it's...it's worse than that." He said slowly, numbly. "If we're like this...how are we supposed to get home? E-Even if the caravan could accomodate us, we'd be putting everyone else on-board at risk, and-" He cut himself off.

Yoite. What about my promise to Yoite? Or Raikou telling me in the future we would rebuild the Shimizu clan together, with Raimei-san?

Is that really all...lost?

Gau was a person who could pull himself up, and could work with all his strength for whatever purpose he was brought to, but he was having difficulty seeing a way around this.

So instead, he asserted a list, and a stack of priorities.

"What about your...your girlfriend?" he asked faintly, before he could stop himself, staring at the snow. "If you can't...? What will happen to her?"

Something in him twisted, but he forced his face to still. He had to hear this. He had to know the cost. It would be simple enough to kill himself to keep other people from trouble once all his affairs were in order and he apologized to Yoite--that was a price that was only natural for his foolishness, but Finn?

This is my responsibility. I've put this burden on Finn-san. I have to solve that first.
