Summary: Cassandra leads a hunting party against the turkeys. Yeah, this should end well.
Cassandra decided, beyond a reasonable doubt, that she was insane. Really, it was a long time coming and, conveniently enough, it was the only logical explanation for this ridiculous plan. Then again, it took an insane plan to deal with an insane situation. And this was clearly an insane situation. Cassandra felt reasonably safe in her assumption that there was no such thing as sacred turkey grounds. The birds and their sudden appearance followed no logic. So it seemed to be making best of the situation to go on a hunt. Besides, it had been awhile since Cassandra had eaten meat and, after the unexplained hunger a few days ago, this felt satisfying.
She was the first to arrive in the training room and she was fine with that. It gave her a few moments to collect her thoughts. She was actually enjoying the opportunity to spend some more time with Morgana. The young prophetess was a companion she felt she might actually be able to call a friend. Cassandra didn't make friends easily. As for Guinevere...who knew? There was something delightful about that optimism.
Absently, Cassandra walked the length of the room, testing the stiffness of her bowstring. She was wearing
a pair of trousers and a new corset she had sewn out of some pilfered linens, the last of her supply from the Beast's castle. She liked the way that trousers made her feel. It was like she possessed some sort of secret strength that had before only belonged to men. It was difficult to put into words and even harder to express to herself, but she liked the way she felt. She felt as though she were someone else, an actor performing at the Dionysia or something. She understood the appeal of performing now. It was like armor.
Clearly, she was thinking too much. And once again, she sighed a long-suffering sigh, chalking it all up to her insanity.
