The soft scrape, screape of his wheelchair on wood and carpet was all Hal could hear as he moved down the hallway. It had been a struggle, as he'd expected, finding his way to the floor that had Mister Charles' room on, but he'd managed to get there with a kind hand from the people around him. He had been forced to break barriers and ask around, ever so shyly, but eventually, eventually, he had found his way. And he was so thankful.

Link. That was the name of the boy he was supposed to be meeting - the name of the boy that was living with Mister Charles. Harold couldn't help but feel a little jealous - Mister Charles had been looking after him before, and now there was another boy that would take up his time? No, he told himself quickly with a frown. No, Mister Charles won't mind. He'll still care, even if I did hurt Sacra. I had to do it. He'll understand, he has to!

When he reached the door, Hal paused. He couldn't deny he was scared; he was meeting the person that was sharing space with Mister Charles, but he was also meeting someone his own age - or thereabouts. It had been a long time since he had spent time with anyone that was even close to being as old as he was and it scared him. What if he didn't fit in? What if he was strange, or stupid, or silly and was teased? His hand shook as he lifted it to the door, a nervous look on his face.

It couldn't be too bad. He had been through worse. He had to make Mister Charles proud. He had to.

Hal knocked on the door quickly and then let his hand drop quickly to his lap, his eyes following as it moved. He was still so scared, but-- But Mister Charles was always brave, and he wanted to see him again so badly. Working up his courage, Hal opened his mouth to speak quickly. "Um, I... I-It's me, Harold! You said I could cmoe... I hope that's still okay, Mister Link."
