Nemesis stood a fair distance away from the ogre to save himself the strain of craning his neck too far. He waited with a kind of dull impatience, not entirely impressed with the grandness of Grandore himself, but not stupid enough to shrug off what looked like the makings of a significant announcement. Hope for the best, expect the worst: if anyone was taking bets, Tom was going to toss his luck in with hopelessly vague, overly cheerful sound-off for the next Disneyland destination.
It wasn't all a pain in the ass, really; it was one of the fewer chances to glimpse across at the heaping handfuls of weirdoes and other abductees lumped in with him for the ride. More time to observe, study, and build up a few fresh disguises for himself. More time to observe Cid, most of all. The man in the flesh could, perhaps, give away more than the obnoxious voice over the network.
He could really go for Diana swooping in, roping Cid up, and wheedling out every last shred of useful information out of him right then and there, too, but Tom wasn't banking on wishful thinking at the moment.
