Fang walked down the hall briskly, pausing only to check the numbers on each door. She had no problem sharing a room with someone, but she'd much rather share with Vanille, or even Lightning. She didn't like the fact that their group was so spread out - only she and Snow were in the same tower, let alone room. Even if Light and Vanille had said that the caravan ride had been (for the most part) uneventful, Fang wasn't going to rely on that lasting.

She entered the room without knocking, eyes jumping from the bunkbeds to the table to the window and the person standing there. Fang remained in the doorway, standing easily with the door still open behind her. "You must be the roommate then." Hard to tell much of anything about her with her back still turned.

Lost in thought, Sumire hadn't heard the door open and jumped at the sound of the woman's voice. She turned around to face this woman and looked her over; she didn't recognize her, but her voice sounded a little bit familiar. "Ah, my name's Sumire Takahana," she said, bowing her head slightly. "You must be Fang-san."

She pushed herself off of the windowsill and walked a little closer to the woman. "Are you one of the new members?"

Once Sumire turned around, Fang got a slightly better look at her. Definitely several years younger than Vanille, and she didn't look like a fighter. Fang wondered if that was the reason why they'd been split up - scatter those who could fight across the caravan, and then no part would be completely defenseless. She could respect that (if a bit grudgingly), but it was still just a theory. "Right and right again," she answered. "Gotta say, this looks better than that cell."

Meeting someone like this actually felt a bit surreal. Apparently Fang didn't have to worry about someone recognizing her mark and running off screaming about the "evil Pulse l'Cie". But everything she's been doing has been geared toward completing their Focus, and it seemed there was nothing they could do about that here. Running, hiding, fighting against almost everything and everyone that they'd encountered... they hadn't had much time to just sit around and chat. Thinking of which: "And I've been filled in on some of the details, so don't think you gotta ( ... )

"It's plain, but it's very comfortable," Sumire said, studying Fang's appearance more closely. She was particularly interested in what looked like a tattoo; she hadn't seen too many women with tattoos - or indeed, anyone at all - and she wondered if it had any significance, but that was probably too personal a question to ask. She didn't recognize Fang's style of clothing, but she realized she didn't know much of other cultures besides her own.

"If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer," she added, and then she glanced over at the beds. "Oh, do you have a preference to which bunk you want?"

Fang had two marks, one on each arm: a large black one that covered her left bicep, and a smaller blue-white one on her right arm near her shoulder. Luckily for her, the culture shock of being thrown into the caravan wasn't too bad, not after those first few days in Cocoon. She nodded to acknowledge Sumire's first comment. "Right."

Whether she'd take her up on it was an entirely different matter: there wasn't any reason to distrust Sumire, but there wasn't any compelling one to trust her immediately either. Fang had no plans of being unfriendly, let alone hostile, but for now she'd keep her own cards close to her chest.

At least the second question caused her slight smile to grow. "Nah. I'm used to these, so either suits me just fine." Seemed like that wasn't the case with most other people, so she didn't mind letting Sumire have her preference. If there was an emergency, she could get down just as easily from the top bunk.

Since her roommate had left, Sumire had been alternating between the top bunk and the bottom bunk, so she had grown used to both, although she had a slight preference for heights. Her belongings were already on the bottom bunk, but those could easily be moved.

"I can take the top bunk if that's okay with you," she said, walking over to the beds and picking up her things.
