Although admittedly feeling rather disoriented and upset at the absurdity of her situation, Katniss had been able to rein in her emotions. Once the cells had been opened, she had left her cellmates behind and set out to explore the castle. She had been determined to find some sort of sign that hinted at everything being a set up by the Capitol, but having found nothing she was beginning to accept what others were saying - that this was another world, that the only way "home" was on a caravan run by some mysterious man and pulled along by a giant monster. It was a difficult idea to process, made more difficult by the fact she was left with no other option but to trust the word of strangers.

Katniss had thought circles around the concept while walking the halls of the Beast's castle. When it had taken her nowhere, she succumbed to her most basic needs and tracked down the kitchens, reluctantly eating only what she made sure no one else had tampered with. From there she had gone on to the storage rooms in hopes of finding suitable clothes to wear because hers were in need of a wash. Although putting together a wardrobe felt unnecessarily permanent, she figured she ought to take advantage of the resources being offered, especially if she was going to be stuck in this other "world" for the time being. She still couldn't shake off the paranoia that tinged those thoughts or the cameras she imagined were trained on her as she sorted through clothing.

Would they be laughing, thinking poor Katniss, the only lucid one in the entire arena? Betting on how long before her very public death as traitor to the Capitol?

Fortunately, or not, the sight she came across when she walked into the laundry room entirely derailed her dark thoughts.

It was a boy. Naked. Staring at a basin full of clothes.

Katniss took a deep breath. She had been able to handle Finnick's barely there costume, but this was another situation. She felt terribly awkward as she carefully kept her eyes above waist level and made her way to an empty basin.

"Do you mind?" she asked, a slightly strained edge to her voice.
