For the past few days, Sion had been sleeping. Oh, yes, sleeping. For days. After keeping himself awake, finding Kazuki, and then finding Yuki, his body couldn't keep up. Thus, he rested. It helped with his injuries, and thankfully made him more energetic, but he wasn't exactly healed. Still, he was better than he was.

So, with the health he regained he took to walking around the caravan and trying to catch up. From what he'd gathered, Grandore had stopped because of a river. ... that was the most important thing to happen, apparently. He supposed it made sense, in a way, but he didn't appreciate the hold-up. Then again, with Kazuki here there wasn't a need to hurry this trip along. It might be better for Kazuki to take it slow as well - there were a lot of things for him to sort out and come to terms with.

Speaking of Kazuki (sort of), Sion needed to visit him again soon to make sure he was all right. Before he could do that, however, he was stopped by someone's voice. He turned to the person and inspected them.

He probably should have expected that response from someone eventually. Sometime during the trip he should take care of his clothing situation, however he wasn't exactly eager to when there were other things that needed his attention more. He closed his eyes and responded with a simple, "No, I haven't."

Oh. 'Twas the most blunt of answers - Morrigan was far more used to the squabbles coming from defensive retorts, those that came from assuming she was somehow the one at fault for another person's actions. Indeed, 'twas almost... refreshing, in a manner. Morrigan's lips twitched in amusement, arms folding across her chest. "I see," she drawled. As she approached, she could find that at least he (indeed, with the voice, 'twas indeed a male) was wearing a robe underneath the fabric. 'Twould, at least, do.

"Are you, perhaps, searching for something?" she then questioned, head canting to the side. Why else would someone be thusly roaming about? Even Morrigan was searching - at least, for a better sense of her own surroundings. "Better clothes, even?"

... this seemed like it might be a long conversation, or at least a longer conversation than he wanted to have just now. Sion opened his eyes and glanced down the hall, wondering idly if Kazuki had noticed his lack of presence the past few days. The woman's voice (and approach) drew his eyes back to her though, and he found himself closing a bit more of the gap between them. Even if he wasn't much for conversations, he did try to be polite and pleasant.

"Not exactly," sort of, anyway, "I checked around the caravan earlier, there aren't any changes of clothes." That made doing laundry awkward.

"No?" Morrigan mused. "The wash room is quite public, perhaps you could simply lend a few items." She studied the sheet, then, eyes narrowing briefly - not out of malice, but perhaps out of study. "Or simply sew that fabric into something akin to a vestment." Of course, he could always purchase clothing at the next village - but who knew when that would be, considering the river. She found it most strange that a man who knew the journey did not know a path that avoided the water altogether. What with a large caravan and an equally large giant, one should think it would be thought of.

Then again, perhaps not entirely. Perhaps this was their final destination where they would be thus all eaten. Morrigan could not be sure - she first needed to find what was draining her power, then make her own escape. With or without the others - she had not yet decided.

'Lend' a few items? ... His expression momentarily darkened from the comment. He wasn't a fan of theft, especially when there was no need for it. Even if he wasn't in the best attire, he still had a robe (and a sheet) to wear. He could survive on that if he were careful.

Sion shook his head and replied, "I'd prefer not to do that." As for the sheet though... he pulled it away from his body to stare at it; this caused the sheet to fall down to his elbows. "I could sew it though, if I had a needle and thread."

The outfit wouldn't be exceptionally comfortable, but he would have a second pair of clothes.

"'Tis fair," Morrigan responded with a wave of her hand. She paused, then. She did have such things, what with constantly needing to sew her own things back together after battles with darkspawn, misguided men, the occasional werewolf... Indeed, she did, yet what reward could possibly be obtained by allowing this person to utilize it? Other than no longer being an eyesore, a crime indeed to be adorned in only a robe and little else. She huffed, mildly annoyed with her own thoughts.

"I have these things," she anounced then. "Yet I find myself pondering what I may receive, should I allow you to utilize them. I have but a single spiral of thread left, and to obtain more at the next village would cost me."

Hmpf, that figured. Not that she would have needle and thread, but that she wanted to barter for them. Right now he didn't have anything to give, and his need for clothes wasn't so dire, however...

He also had to consider Kazuki. Kazuki was rough, both on his clothes and as a person. Eventually he'd tear something, and Sion wasn't sure if he that would be before or after the next town. "I understand," he stated calmly, as was his way. Carefully he reached into his robe and pulled out his pocket watch before removing the chain.

"Will you accept a future payment, and hold this as collateral?" He wasn't sure he trusted the woman, but hey. Kazuki was more important than a chain.

Morrigan's eyes seemed to glint at the appearance of the item. 'Twas made of gold, and though she knew not the large bulbous item that had previously been attached to it, the chain interested her well enough. 'Twas like the finest of jewelry she had often heard Leliana prattling on about - so much so that it had finally sunk into her sense of self that she thus desired it. Her hand retreated to the small pack at her side, withdrawing the thin needle and the equally thin roll of dark thread. "'Twill do," she agreed, holding out the items in one hand while her other hand was extended to receive the golden chain.

'Twould do well as a necklace, in fact. There were two intricate clasps at either end, and though it was rather long in that itself, she minded little.

Ah, seemed he was right not to completely trust her. The lust in her eyes for gold was obvious, so much so that he felt little hope for seeing his chain again. It wasn't worth much to him personally, aside from its monetary value. Any sentiments he held toward the watch were moreso for the actual watch part - not the chain. Be that as it may, he felt it best to reaffirm his position on this trade.

"Then we're in agreement. In exchange for a needle and thread, you shall temporarily hold this item." He held up the chain, to make certain she knew that was what he meant. "Once an item of equal value to the needle and thread is found, you will return my collateral."

"I know very well what the word collateral intends, yes," Morrigan drawled, eyes half hooded as she gazed at the other with a complete lack of an appreciation for his impressiveness. "Fear not, you will receive back your jewelry once you have repaid me," she reassured well enough, lips pursing briefly. Though it would not be hers permanently it was, at least, pleasing - and she could then thusfar hope that the boy would simply be eaten by the giant before they got to the next village.

Yet that would still leave her without the needle and thread. Perhaps he would leave it in his rooms so she could simply take them back, after Grandore had his way with this person. Alas was, in a way, simply wishful thinking.

"Very well," and so he reached out and offered the chain. However, he still hadn't much hope for receiving it back.

But, again, Kazuki was worth it if he didn't.

BECAUSE YOU'RE WORTH IT... dissentive June 22 2010, 18:39:51 UTC
Morrigan plucked it from his grasp, winding it around her fingers so that it would not tangle - as it would if she placed it in her pack. "Consider our transaction complete, then," she announced, offering him the needle and thread in return.
