Summary: Steph needs to wash her costume, and Nero notices a familiar color scheme coming out of the dryer. Wacky shenanigans ensue.
Steph usually didn't mind doing laundry. Maybe because her mom did most of it. But with her mom conveniently absent, the menial task fell to her, but with one significant twist: she had to wash the costume.
After searching for ten minutes for a tag with cleaning instructions, she'd just thrown the thing into the washer and hoped for the best. She was so dead if it turned out to be dry clean only. No one would take her seriously if she was stuck in a shrunken costume that showed off her belly. And she didn't even want to think about how she'd get a tiny little cowl on her head. But it had started to smell really rank, in no small part due to the apparent lack of air conditioning in their traveling home, and the only thing worse than a superhero in a tiny costume was a superhero in a stinky one.
Feeling a bit self-conscious in her white undershirt and shorts (she'd really have to ask Surge how she managed the whole 'no modesty' thing), she waited on a bench for her costume to finish drying. A loud buzz indicated that the moment of truth was at hand. She opened the dryer and pulled the costume out as discretely as possible, but anyone with a keen eye would be able to notice the flash of black and purple material that she began to shove into a laundry bag. And it definitely didn't help when the cape fell out on the floor.
