Summary: Elika and Iris talk about the past, and regret, and the implications of clean slates. Over tea.
Elika was waiting for Iris in the kitchen, already rooting through cupboards to find a proper tin of black tea. Most of what she'd found so far was the bagged variety, but she was determined in finding an actual herb blend. When she finally located one behind the sugar bowl, she was rather pleased, even if it wasn't a variety she was familiar with.
This presented her with a new dilemma: how did one boil water in the Kitchens of the Future? She hesitated over the gas stove, and then decided it was probably for the best if she didn't touch anything. She hoped Iris arrived soon to show her how it was done; meanwhile, she went about assembling various herbs for flavour, such as aniseed and cinnamon. The tea would be a team effort.
