Characters: Ty Lee and anyone else who wants in! Setting/Location: An inn in district one of Sleepywoods Date & Time: day 0, mid-afternoon Warnings: none so far! Summary: Ty Lee wakes up and decides to do a bit of exploring. ( cut )
Being holed up in a room wasn't exactly Dante's specialty either, which is why he moved onto the much more heroic action of pacing the hall. It wasn't that he didn't want to explore the city, Sleepywhatever--but there was definitely something strange going on here. For one, there was that message from "Cid Amon", helpfully explaining the ins and outs of their situation. Fine. Great. A little too convenient
( ... )
Ty Lee hesitated a moment before approaching the pacing man. He looked like he might want to be left alone, but then again, he also seemed pretty dazed and confused. Maybe she could help him! Or, more likely, maybe they could help each other.
Moving forward a little, she stepped into his path. "Um, hello?"

He stopped just short of running into her, regaining his balance and glancing up. OK. Pretty girl seemed normal enough. Probably not a demon. Hopefully not a demon. Dante cleared his throat, crossing his arms and attempting to look reassuring and responsible.
"Hey there, little lady," he said, with a nod. "What can I do for you?"
Not that he really knew all that much about this place. But maybe two people could find out more than one.
"Oh! I'm just... looking around, I guess." Was he from here too, like that guy from the Juno-something? He sounded authoritative, and he looked it, too. "I kind of just showed up, though. Do you know how I can get out of here?"
He looked her up and down---trying to gauge the same thing, actually, whether she's a local or not. Dante wasn't really able to tell by the clothes, but the fact that she wanted to get out of here kind of sealed the deal.
"Afraid I'm in the same boat as you, actually. I was just about to see if I could find out more information by interrogating the locals."
"Sure, why not?" Dante said, with a shrug. It wasn't that he hadn't heard about the varying dangers of the area surrounding Sleepywoods--but this girl seemed like she could take care of herself. And if she couldn't, well, they'd just have to cross that bridge when they came to it. "You hold them, I'll punch."
Ty Lee giggled. "I could help with the punching stuff too, you know!"
She started down the hall, glancing back to see if Dante was following. It was interesting-- if all the people she'd seen here so far, none of them looked familiar. Not just in the sense of not seeing anyone that she knew, but in terms of their clothes, their names, even the colors of their hair... everyone looked very, very foreign. Dante, for example, had white hair, but he didn't look all that old! Definitely weird.
Dante's definitely had some experience with strange things happening, but this is the first time he's woken up in what seems like an entirely different world. It's enough to make a guy wish he'd done a little more research and a little less fighting demons. But you know what they say, hindsight's twenty-twenty.
He trailed after Ty Lee down the hall, not walking slowly, but letting her take the lead. She seemed like the type who could take care of herself. Especially since she'd offered to throw a few punches herself.
"All right, so maybe I'll hold them, then. You can take 'em out. Does that sound good? We'll have information in no time."
"Yeah!" ... He was probably kidding, of course. At least, she kind of hoped he was kidding. Her fighting style was pretty nonviolent, sure, but that didn't mean that she used it for everything. She saved it for important stuff-- like battles (which she secretly hoped she wouldn't see any more of for a while), or getting away from pushy boys at parties.
"So what's your name?" she asked, suddenly realizing that they hadn't properly introduced themselves. "I'm Ty Lee!"
"I'm Dante," he said, offering a little wave in lieu of a handshake. He's not really that formal of a guy. Definitely kidding about the beating people up part too. Not that he wouldn't, if that was what it came down to, but Dante wasn't exactly the sort to throw punches first and ask questions later.
At least, he was trying not to be here. "Pleased to meet you, Ty Lee. I don't suppose there's any point in asking where you're from...?"
"Oh, I'm from the Fire Nation!" Even though telling people where she was from had often been met with hostility in prison, she still didn't hesitate before answering. "What about you?"
"Well... Last I knew, I was in Fortuna," Dante said, looking around. He still wasn't entirely used to the idea that he'd left Fortuna--that they'd really all been transported to another world. "Fire Nation, huh? Bet it gets pretty hot there."
Yes, that is exactly the kind of remark he thought was hilarious.
ffff and I almost brought her in with HER Discedo memories XDbeatsupboysMay 22 2010, 23:36:28 UTC
"Where's Fortuna? The Earth Kingdom?" It definitely didn't sound like any place she'd ever heard of. Just another thing to add to the list of weird stuff here.
"Uhh, sure," it was on Earth, anyway. Maybe this girl--Ty Lee--just had a very antiquated way of speaking. Or something like that. She hit the general area at least, anyway. That's what's important. "I wouldn't exactly call it a kingdom, though."
... OH is he not from Discedo, then? fff I got mixed up because the world in that game is called--beatsupboysMay 23 2010, 01:25:22 UTC
She raised an eyebrow; that... didn't really make much sense. He was from the Earth Kingdom, but he didn't call it the Earth Kingdom? "Are you from one of the colonies?"
