So he was being spoken too. Shizuo nodded. "Yo." And, because it was obvious this guy didn't fit into... wherever this dream world was, continued. "A lot of foreigners getting stuck here."
And obviously this guy was one of them. But he couldn't judge; he was foreign by dint of travelling far outside of his homeland. "Guess we're pretty popular," he agreed. "Where'd you come from?"
There was something wrong here. Seriously. These foreigners all speaking Japanese, which sounded fine except the kids who could pronounce everything else right, but not his name. In a dream it wouldn't bother him, but he was pretty sure by now this was just some messed up reality.
He raised his eyebrows at that. They could understand each other, so why was this guy asking? Then again, Japan was probably somewhere from the Orient, and he hadn't gone there yet. "Arabic? ...Is this some kind of trick question?"
He shook his head, features turning irritated again. "Japanese." And he habitually looked around for someone to blame the confusion on. None appeared, so Shizuo dug out a cigarette instead. "When I find the bastard that plucked me out of Ikebukuro and into this cheap manga story I'm going to kill him."
Shizuo blew out a puff of smoke. He knew he wasn't much for plans. But since he didn't know whose ass he had to kick yet anyway, it was just venting his annoyance.
"He left me some kind of letter --" he drummed his fingers on the Junogam "-- but I'm not much for reading. Something about a Loophole, a Witch and a Caravan. I don't suppose you know anything about that?"
Shizuo furrowed his brows at the cellphone-like device the guy was holding. No, maybe it was more like a PDA? It looked a little familiar... he'd seen a lot of people with them out, come to think of it.
"Only what I've heard other people talk about. He give you that thing?"

"Kick his ass and make him send him home," he amended, lighting his cigarette.
