[ this isn't the first time this has happened to lloyd, but it's still a rather jarring turn of events. worse is the fact that this doesn't seem to be toujours at all (or maybe that's better, he can't be entirely sure yet)-- his gadget is gone, replaced by something similar but still different, and all of those familiar faces he'd gotten so used to seem to be missing.

he makes his way gingerly into the lobby, keeping close to the wall, trying to stay out of sight. despite getting what seemed to have been a peaceful rest for once, he's still rather sore, courtesy of the last set of bruises he got from the guests of toujours hotel spattered across his cheek and neck. ]

[ keeping close to the wall and out of sight. way to look suspicious, man! some of us around here are ace*detectives, and we can tell when someone's up to no good. well, even if lloyd was up to no good, adachi wouldn't really care, but it's still weirding him out a bit. the guy looks like he just got beat up - what is it with everyone around here having injuries?

(that's hardly a good sign of what's to come.)

in the meantime, he's looking for a water fountain or something to get a damn drink. maybe there's one near the bathrooms! which happen to be near lloyd. he makes a sort of hurried walk in that direction, eyeing lloyd carefully but not making any sudden movements. ]

[ he stops when he sees the other man hurrying over, completely aware that he can't really hide, and running would be a bad idea, and either way he's calling attention to himself-- he stops, leaning against the wall and hoping that he'll pretend to not notice him, or not care and decide leave him be. ]

[adachy]

[ this guy's a jumpy motherfucker and it's freaking adachi out. he raises a hand in halfhearted greeting. ]

[earlship]

[ damn-- well, so much for getting ignored. he stares like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car for just a moment, before realizing that he's probably supposed to be acknowledging the other man. he straightens up, forcing a smile onto his face and waving in return. ]

[adachy]

[ oh yeah there's something fishy going on here. adachi smiles and approaches, but keeps a safe distance. ]

Hey, you look a little lost.

[earlship]

Yes, well, it's nothing new. [ he falters, not sure exactly what to say. where are these people from? were they trapped in a place like that hotel before being brought here, or have they been ripped from their homes like he originally was? he wonders if he should ask, and then decides to-- it can't hurt, can it? ] Aa... Do you know of a place called Toujours Hotel?

Tou...jours?

Can't say I've ever heard of a place like that. Is it in Japan?

[earlship]

[ shrugs and slips his hands in his pockets, frowning a bit. it wasn't as though they'd ever gotten to see outside. ] Who knows? If you don't know it, it doesn't really matter anyway.

[adachy]

Sounds like a pretty miserable "hotel" if you don't even know where it's located.

[earlship]

[ laughs a little dryly. ] Miserable would be a good way of describing it.

[adachy]

Hmm. If you're not from around here, then...

[ he pulls out his junogam and holds it flat in his palm, showing it to lloyd ]

Then did you get a message on one of these?

[earlship]

You mean from that man, Cid? [ he reaches in his pocket and takes his own out, confirming that yes, he too has one. it isn't surprising for him, though, that everyone should have them-- they had similar things in toujours, after all. ]

[adachy]

Yeah, Cid. It's kinda hard to trust someone who won't even meet you in person, though.

[earlship]

Mmm, that's true enough. But we can't just stay here forever.

[ he pockets the device, shifting slightly. ]

[adachy]

You're right. Well, if you're familiar with this whole process, what's the next step?

[ he glances out the window of the inn. it's a pretty scene outside. ]
