Summary: A rather intriguing reunion goes down.
A day in, and this whole little adventure was becoming a terrible headache: aside from the obvious annoyance of being torn from his station at Yangwu during a pivotal time, the lack of concrete information, Zhou Yu's presence, and an apparently volatile barbarian roommate, Guo Jia was forced to defend his very identity and had talked more of his impending death than he was entirely comfortable with. Seven years seemed to be simultaneously a long time and a short one.
Progress had been made, at least. Cao Pi was willing to humour him this far. It was a strange thought that Cao Pi was only a boy of thirteen in his time, yet the man that he waited for was older than himself, by his calculations. Whether or not his head would stay where it was remained to be seen at this point, but that was less concerning that anything else, since there was almost no uncertainty about it. Either Cao Pi would by satisfied by the truth and would abandon plans so they could get down to business, or Cao Pi would act upon his threats regardless of what Guo Jia said, and that would be that.
Fortunately he had plenty of experience in dealing with stress.
He could not deny that he was extremely curious, either.
Guo Jia ignored the chairs except to drape his cloak over the back of one, and set down some folded bedsheets upon the table, before he turned to face the door, his hands linked behind his back, his stance casual but wholly confident.
