I wonder if I can get a similar resist dyed fabric in the Asian fabric section of the local patchworking shop? It would be a pricey way to make a tunic though.
In my hippy youth, we did resist dyeing with wax. That is a lot of fabric to hand mark with wax though! Although modern Asian techniques soemtimes use a block which is dipped in wax and stamped on the fabric.
It is a bit hot to be playing with hot wax and dyes......
