At work, we've started using biodegradable plates, cups, and utensils. Their website says that they can handle temperatures of up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, but I'm currently eating a steaming cup of soup. I bought it with the intention of letting it cool before I go eat at noon, but now I'm eating it quickly, afraid that my spoon and cup might start to dissolve, since the soup is obviously hotter than 200 degrees. Anyone know what's the deal with this? Is eating hot soup and drinking hot coffee safe with these things?
