"61...Is that his average score?," asked a woman beside Keiichi. In front of them, sat an ordinary man. Putting on a big smile, the man said, "No, it's the deviation value."
All the woman could do was gasp a little, while Keiichi to just sat there quietly looking indifferent, if not oddly silent.
"Even on the intelligence test his scores were incredibly high. In other words, Maebara-kun is extremely bright."
At this, his mom looked very skeptical. "But, his grades in school aren't very good at all..."
"From the results of the Kraepelin test, we learned some very interesting things," said the man. "Maebara-kun is bad at what he believes to be meaningless questions; things that he can't relate to, and is unable to get interested in them."
All his mother could do was stare in wonder at the man in front of them, as if this weren't really happening. "Let's say for example, you tell him to draw a development view of a regular hexahedron, he's doesn't understand. But, if instead you ask, "What shape would a die become if you were to cut it apart, he'll answer splendidly."

Keiichi looked up to the sign of his new class room as it said "Advanced Class". Smiling a bit he entered.

There is a piece of paper pinned to the wall displaying what would look like midterm scores for all 1st years. Going down just a bit, third on the list says "Maebara Keiichi" with a score of 671. Looking upon it Keiichi just smiled, obviously proud of himself, although oblivious to the glares of those in his class behind him.

Walking into his class, he looked over to his desk to see something on it. Getting closer, his eyes widen as a dead rat lay on his desk. Everyone else in the class were stifling their laughter and talking about him as if he weren't there.

[keiichi woke up kind of slowly. sitting up he put a hand to his head, not even caring at the sight of a golden card beside his pillow]
