Last half of May Recap: "and then..."

Jun 01, 2009 23:18

I was busy, didn't update, sue me. And I will fight it, because I am now officially have a J.D. And I may make you call me Doctor, just for kicks. That's right Dan, suck it.

So what happened? I finished law school finals about May 12th. I went on a weeklong drinking spree with about the only person who was also done, one Ms. Meghan Cook (I hope she reads this, she hates being called Ms.). We also ate pretty much every meal together for a week, because, like I said, no one else was done. And went and saw bad movies and whatnot. It was fun.

Then people also finished, and there was more partying to be had.

And then BarBri started before we even graduated. Although, we still went out after classes - I even went tubing one random weekday afternoon with some friends. Good call.

And then my heterosexual life partner Colin came into town. I went to Shiner Brewery and did the tour the Friday before graduation with my brother, Colin, Ms. Cook, and her siblings. It was glorious.

And then graduation was on Saturday. I participated in the Law School's Sunflower Ceremony, as well as Universitywide Commencement. I carried the Law School's banner during the grand processional, because I'm kind of a big deal. We had a bit of a rain delay, but it went off without a hitch. Robert Rodriguez gave one of the funnier speeches I've sat through at UT, and the fireworks were awesome, as usual.

And then I had my Memorial Day Barbecue. I smoked 3 briskets, 6 racks of ribs, 3 turkey breasts, and 10 links of sausage. Not to mention, I made my own barbecue sauce. And I had no leftovers. Great success.

And then BarBri started again after a short break. And that is pretty much going to be my life for the next 2 months. I probably won't update much until I take the Texas Bar Exam on July 28th, 29th, and 30th. So, I'll see you then.
