Line and Sinker
---

There was a substantial amount of hazards that came along with the job this small group of team members have, and Reid would like to believe that he has become accustomed to the dangers that this type of occupation brings forth, the risk that each and everyone of them takes on a daily basis, but there are times where his mind slips and he's reminded of how unstable it all is. That at any given moment the foundation could crumble, and they all could go toppling down.

The reality of things could be a bit of an eye-opener from time to time, marinading into the flesh and running a stream of doubt and fear through open veins. I mean, all of them had almost met their end at one point or another; serial killers with no souls, individuals suffering from psychological breaks that resulted in some of the most gruesome crimes anyone could ever imagine, and they saw it hands on. They saw it first, and they were expected to fix it. Fix all of it, but there was always a new problem to be handed down to them, a new crisis, and they dove into these infested waters head first.

Reid, himself, had been shot, held captive and tortured, but if he were to think about it too much, dwell too deeply into that line of thought, there would be no way he could continue on doing what he did for a living. However, he was no fool, he knew that one day it would be too much for his psyche to handle. Reid was well aware of the consequences, he had seen those too.

When they weren't diving into their work, they were sinking into other time consuming activities, anything that would take their minds off of what they had encountered. Hotch took all his resting time to love and care for his son, Jack. JJ catching up with everything that related to her own son, and Will. Of course, Rossi has his booze and cigars, and Penelope has Kevin to take comfort in. No one knew exactly what relief Emily took, but she had found something one way or another that worked. That left just Morgan and Reid.

For a long time Reid had allowed himself to get eaten alive by his career choice, though the young Doctor was well aware that he did not have to work in the BAU. Reid could potentially work anywhere he pleased, and for higher pay and less hours (not to mention fewer nightmares), but something kept Spencer where he stood, something made it all worthwhile in the end.

With all the evil Spencer had witnessed, it was hard to believe that he still had faith in human beings, but he did. Though, there was a substantial amount of bad, downright repulsive individuals who walked among this Earth, there were those rare few who gave it a simplistic beauty.

Morgan was able to show this side of humanity to Reid. Slowly, he was able to relax in the other mans company, his embrace. Reid descended himself into every little touch of lips, every brush of skin against skin, drowning out the world and his intruding thoughts. Derek and Spencer threw themselves, not into drugs or alcohol, sex or one night stands. They chose, instead, to get lost in each other.

Which brings us back to where Reid is currently, feet shuffling side to side as he gripped his satchel closer to his slender form, eager.

“You really need to stop drinking so much coffee before we leave, kid.” Spencer smiles slightly, a little shy and a lot amused. Derek knew all too well that it was not the massive amounts of caffeine causing Spencer's slender fingers to twitch and ache to touch him. The way Morgan grinned at Reid, all white teeth and playful eyes; bedroom eyes. Reid, however, got the elder agent back with a swipe of his tongue across his bottom lip-just a tad bit indecent.

“You're killing me,” Morgan groaned, voice a little deeper, a little huskier in the way it carried through the static fueled distance, hitting Reid's ears and causing him to go slightly light headed.

It was Reid's turn to put Morgan on edge, force him to step off that ledge and fall into him, all of him. It was time for Morgan to let go of everything they had just witnessed, and let go for tonight. To let go of all the pressure, the stress, and the fear of losing what you hold most precious in life.

And God did Derek fear losing Spencer, because when the end of the day came around, Reid was Spencer. The younger agent wasn't just a co-worker, or someone Morgan had to pay extra attention to, he was the most important thing to Derek. I mean everyone fears losing a loved one, it was probably the most painful experience we as human beings have to eventually go through, but in their line of work, losing Reid was a real, everyday, possibility.

Morgan wasn't very fond of looking back on how many times he had almost lost Spencer, as well as all the times he had put him through the same exact situation. The word reckless comes to mind, but Derek would like to think of his actions as more of a dedication to his job, but that didn't matter now, no.

What mattered was that they both had finally made it back to Derek's place in one piece, soft lips cradling into a smile against the side of Derek's neck, making it nearly impossible for him to get the key into the lock, hands quivering just to touch. The boy knew just how to drive Morgan crazy, and rightly so. Spencer Reid was a sight to be seen, absolutely gorgeous whether he knew it or not.

That was okay, though. If Spencer didn't believe Derek when he told him just how beautiful he was, that just meant he got to prove it all to Spencer over and over again, now that was something Derek Morgan could live with. A lesson he could always offer, a ballad of soothing reassurance.

Like now, as Spencer lays flat against Morgan's bed, porcelain skin standing out amongst the crimson satin of his sheets, panting heavily out of breath, and Morgan's just getting started. The curve of Spencer's right hip is just begging to be licked, the taste both bitter and sweet, and maybe just a tad bit sinful. The feeling of his lithe body underneath him, needing and alive, it's all Derek could ever ask for. All he could ever want.

Morgan will admit that his desires for the young Doctor were misguided at first. Derek had only wanted something to take away all the aggression, all the pain that had been building up in him over so many years. Morgan had no intentions of falling in love with Spencer Reid, none once so ever, but somewhere along the line, that had changed-drastically.

Though, Morgan was not sorry about it, and as he thrusts inside the smaller male, looks into his lust filled eyes, he could never regret it. Morgan could never regret Spencer, period.

The job they both shared was not the ideal place to meet someone, let alone fall in love. Derek's anxiety levels rose immensely, not that they had not before when Reid had gotten himself injured, or exposed to some deadly chemical, but it was different now.

Different in the sense that if Reid were to die, Derek would not just be grief stricken for colleague, he would die also. Derek was enmeshed with Spencer, and every gasp, every cry out to God, simply furthered that enmeshment. There was a sincerity to Spencer that Derek could not find in anyone else. A type of friend that would drop anything going on for him, and a love that knew just how to please him; comfort him.

When Morgan was with Reid, inside of him, giving him his all. Morgan was only lost in Reid, and only him. No one else, but him.

Derek was hooked, line and sinker.
