in lieu of writing about my life, I've made you all a
mix cd. Enjoy. (you have to actually click the link, not right-click -> save as.)
1. Gillian Anderson - Joy to the World this song is fun, and makes me think of the forest. Seriously though, this one has no deeper meaning, other than that it makes me smile.
2. James Iha & Nina Gordon - Said Softly This is a great song. Really truly, a great song. It's rather typical of something I'd like, and all acoustic guitar-y.
3. Maroon 5 - She Will be Loved Don't ask. I'm totally addicted to this song.
4. Emm Gryner - Crazy Train crazy....that's how it goes... I can't resist this. It's piano, combined with Ozzy. Excellence.
5. Sam Phillips - Reflecting Light She does the little bits of singing stuffs on Gilmore Girls. Which is, in fact, where I heard this song originally.
6. Ani Difranco - Origami Who can resist a song whose opening line is "I am an all-powerful, amazon warrior...?
7. Counting Crows - August and Everything After The song the album was named after...that wasn't on the album. It's excellent. (however, I have a huge thing for the Counting Crows. It's inexplicable, but I love them so.)
8. Diana Krall - A Case of You I actually can't stand the original version of the song, as much as it pains me to say it. This is a great cover, as it the Tori Amos version. Gorgeous lyrics, just....I dunno. Joni Mitchell doesn't really do it for me, I guess.
9. Ryan Adams - Wonderwall This is an excellent song....however....the one in the .zip is demented. So ummm....pirate on your own, okay?
10. Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely Ah, yes....you should've seen this coming. This song makes me sad. Painfully so. And, it's in Life as a House. It doesn't get much better than that movie.
11. Winona Ryder & Angelina Jolie - Downtown Partially so that I could have more than one song for novelty purposes, and partially because I watched the Fabulous Life of Angelina Jolie today, and I have a crush on her. (oh yeah, and um...I like the song?)
12. Guster - Mona Lisa This is one of those songs that I have no idea why I downloaded it....but I like it. :)
13. Veda Hille - Strange Sad Because no one knows who Veda Hille is, and I think that's sad.
14. Tegan and Sara - Beauty One of my favourites.
15. Frou Frou - Psychobabble My band of the moment. (or, the past few moments, if you will.) Love, love LOVE them. It's like...super-good.
16. Fisher - Mad Girls Love Song It's piano + a poem by Sylvia Plath. I love it.
17. Catie Curtis - Soulfully This one's just pretty.
18. Tori Amos & Maynard James Keenan - Muhammed My Friend You don't really need an explanation for this one, do you?
19. Placebo - Every Me Every You (remix) It's slow. Seriously, this is excellent. It gives me the oppotunity to put that song, in some form, on every cd I make. (not that I DO, just that I could.)
