Homekeeping Friday Five

Since this is the last Friday in 2007, I thought I'd grab a moment and pop in with an end-of-the-year Friday Five. Homekeeping will be back with new challenges, problems and solutions next week (after all the children are back in school and my darling husband finishes his 2 week vacation. Bless his heart. *dies*) but until then, a little something to ponder upon:

What Would You Like To Accomplish, Homekeeping-style, in 2008?

For me:

1. Pare down my books to a manageable, usable level. This will be OMG!HARD but I'm determined to do it by the end of 2008.
2. Re-establish a Homekeeping routine. Not as crazy as Flylady, but a routine that will handle daily tasks as well as maintenance. I hate getting caught behind the eight ball on seasonal tasks
3. Cut out at least half of the processed foods from our diet. When I get busy, I get lazy and rely on short-cut food so I need to plan ahead more for baking and food prep.
4. Set up my sewing area in the basement. I miss having that nook. Even though the basement in the new house is unfinished, I have enough bookcases, etc. to make it more than serviceable. I just need to invest in a lot of good lighting.
5. Re-work the laundry room/mudroom. This has the potential to be a great room but I need to figure out how to make it do all the things I want it to, in the most efficient manner possible. Without knocking out a wall. ;)

What are your Homekeeping goals for 2008?
