Recently I was supposed to receive my check from the VA for the GI Bill. Well, I had just moved and for some reason the mail rerouting didn't take place that was supposed to have taken place. Only having received $660 the previous month and having used up $1200 on a motel bill, I was essentially broke. $2 in my pocket and $9 in the bank; broke. But, $660 would have covered all I needed and if I lived minimally, would have been enough to be ok. Now I am dealing going on without.
I had to ask a friend for a favor. He is paying my rent this month. Here in a moment I am going to have to call my mom for a loan for car insurance. It is the last month of the policy and I would let it lapse if I didn't have to go to Oregon in 6 months. Very poor timing with that bill, yea? If it weren't for that trip I wouldn't need car insurance for probably another 7 months. BUMMER! Is there such a thing as a '1 month policy'? Of course not. As long as I am hoping for that, I should hope for a '3 day policy'.
A person that is in the group (that it seems that I am now in charge of 2 days a week) was really nice. I had been helping her and her friend in a class at the college and through that she learned of my money troubles. She got together with the group and the other girl and made a card thanking me for the help in both the classes. Enclosed in the card was $50. This makes me very happy as it at least clears up my uncertainty about food. For the whole month, even. Maybe even a Mt. Dew here and there so I don't lose my mind from caffeine withdrawls.
Didn't get ahold of mum tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
