house-sitting, outdoors, cars, turkeys.
i spent the last week house sitting in a big house. besides a dead fuschia and a few stains on account of the dog, i did a good job. i got to sit and watch their digital cable. i watched a bunch of their dvds and stayed up way late. that was great.
i had dani come over and we hauled some reclining outdoor lounging chairs out onto the balcony and slept under the stars. it was plenty warm for something like that... until about 2:30 a.m. and the wind comes up. then at 4:00 a.m. the sun comes up and you have to go inside and draw the shades. then at 6:00 a.m. the dogs try shaking the mattress until you wake up and let them out.
sleeping out of doors is cool. i have only done it in tents camping and it wasn't cool then because i hate camping a lot. but in an expensive house, sleeping on furniture and not a sleeping blanket, and in a place where there are no bugs... that is cool. i saw a lot of shooting stars. i saw saturn too. i never get tired of the night sky.
so now i work 6 days a week. at least i have this week. and that sucks majorly. my goal was to work less not work more. but oh well i have almost twice the income. just enough to live on junk food and to go poor on dental work.
i have plans to get my summer started and make it great. the only problem is that it started about a month ago and i have barely left the starting line. pooey. this is a bad sign.
dani and her mommy took me to see Cars yesterday. that was a nice movie. i haven't seen a movie in the theaters that didn't disappoint me or offend me with its excessive shocker images and special effects for a while. cars is just a good lighthearted film that was put together well so i must recommend it to you.
after that i played turkey hunt in the lobby with dani. i did a god job. dani shot too many hens. but she rules at the bonus round. she looked like marty in back to the future. and after shooting turkeys for maybe 15 mins, we drove up the hill to chase the sunset with our camera. we dodged some snakes in the brush and got some great shots. now if only my battery hadn't died and then my charger disappeared...
