I guess I need to ask ekdogg what the heck the difference is between a friend and a "friend"?

a friend will help you out when you are stuck in the snow.

a "friend" will come over and fuck your brains out but won't put a new roll of toilet paper after they used up the other one.

Please don't be offended, but I guess under the circumstances I have the right to ask: why on earth did you add me?

Actually I had seen some of your comments over at ekdogg's journal. When I last emailed ekdogg, I was complaining about how unaccompolished I was feeling. One of my goals this year is to clean up a law journal article I wrote and re-submit it somewhere. Ekdogg suggested I talk to you.

I am not offended by your asking. But I do wonder what "circumstances" you are talking about. Ekdogg and I are just friends (minus the quotation marks).

I would be glad to help out, and am fine with friending you, which I will do when I post this. And actually, this is exactly the right time to be thinking about pulling something together article-wise, because March-May is a particularly good submission time. Now, having said that, you can certainly place things at anytime, because not all journals fill up at the beginning of the "season," but that time period is when most journals at least try to put together their content for the year, and the more slots available, the more likely you'll hit on someone who will take the piece ( ... )
