wow, so i don't think i've ever had a spring break like this one, nor will i ever again. i guess i'll begin with the begining and italy, and i have decided to do this in parts cause i don't feel like typing so much

spring break part one, italy:

so the trip started with an overnight train ride to Barcelona, nothing much but sleeping happened. then allie and i had to wait for three hours in the Barcelona airport while our plane had technical difficulties. i bought a pack of Barcelona playing cards, which came in handy later, which i will explain later, and which amused allie and i for a couple hours.

then off to Rome, where we met Alex and Beth and had a wonderful dinner with them. the next day was the collosium and Vatican City and a lot of walking and gelotti, mmmm.i liked rome, need to go back, didn't get to see the sistine chapel because no one should try to do rome in a day. the roman ruins were incredible.

then to florence, and allie and i learning the meaning of travel by missing a train and getting to Florence later than we expected. In florence, i met up with Byron. it was good to see him. we went to see a soccer game, italian fans are intense, more so than spaniards. after the game was dinner and allie feeling sick. we dragged allie back to Byron's apartment, where she felt better. we were on our way back to the hostel to sleep (made it to the train station) when allie and i caught our second wind and decided to go out with Byron for drinks. after, we were on our way back again (got as far as the train station) when we decided to stay up all night and watch the sun rise. so we went back to Byron's apartment and got drunk on sparkling white italian wine playing card games until dawn. at dawn we saw the sun rise on the oldest bridge in Florence. i fell asleep with my head in Byron's lap while he and Allie sang songs. it was perfect.
afterwards we showered (the only thing we used the hostel for, besides holding our stuff) and then saw the duomo and i went up the tower and saw all of Florence, took pictures

from Florence allie and i traveled to Venice. Venice at night is completely different from Venice during the day. no one is around at night, and the same desolete streets are crowded at day. too many tourists in Venice, but it is a beautiful city. i would love to go back and live there, but not visit. i feel like Venice is only amazing if you can really get to know the tiny intricate streets very well. and i will someday, i want to live and do theater in Venice. Allie and i found a cape and hat and costume store. the owner was a professor and his wife was the designer. it was an amazing store, i got to try on a cape and hat. if i do theater in venice i will use the costumes in this store. and be friends with the owner.

i loved italy, had tons of gelottis and pizza and good italian food. and wonderful weather. got to use my spanish too, lots of spanish tourists, and italian is a lot like spanish.

ok. that is all for part one
