What did Angel think of her Christmas present from Sera?

...actually, no, I'm greedy. Relationship meme for Sera and Angel too.

That present was the only one Angel got, and she really was bemused by why anyone would send her a gift. But when she thought about it a bit, she could tell that it couldn't have come from anyone but Sera.

Then she wondered why Sera bothered, and then realized oh wait, this is Sera, Sera always bothers. ...only it was more complicated than that and involved thought processes about the futility of human action. :|

Even though she was expecting it, she was still glad Sera avoided her afterward and never brought it up. She wouldn't have known what to say. Although the symbolism made her smile! It was not a nice smile.

Also the plant isn't dead yet! But just barely. Angel wonders why she continues watering it, and sometimes she doesn't bother.

...SOB THAT DIDN'T REALLY ANSWER THE QUESTION, DID IT. Also I--I need to look over some canon again before I do a relationship essay, wah. This may take a few days.

Though if I recall, Angel also got a feather from Gale for Christmas.

Unfortunately, Sera isn't David! As we've said already, no part of her is David, so she doesn't carry the same exemption as Gale does. Angel can--dismiss Sera, kind of. She can regard Sera and her actions as 'amusing' or 'ironic,' and in no circumstance do they inspire the same painful, genuine emotion gale does. Angel treats Sera with disdain! She's willingly cast her to the wolves, and she is little more than an Essential Experiment to Angel by the time DDS rolls around. Which is why Angel treats her as a little more or less than human; she's the Cyber Shaman, a kind of monster who can shape the world, a tool for Angel to break and lobotomize and manipulate into destroying it. When she escapes, she becomes an annoying inconvenience ( ... )

I wish I could give you a really in-depth answer to this besides BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, but. THAT'S ABOUT WHAT IT IS. Sera... loves Angel. It's just a fact of life. It's a leftover of Angel teaching her prayers and Sera wanting to do her best for everyone as a test subject, and it's never going to go away! She wants, desperately, for Angel to love her back - with an intensity she's barely even aware of consciously - but she expects nothing. It's a hurt that's long scabbed over, even though she still feels it. It's easier for her to deal with it by saying that Angel hates her, and that's why she used her as she did.

What I'm really most interested in is whether that's true or not - you'd say no?
