* placing things in a timeline is difficult, but the with the Eternal Sword was made, and the war ended, before Martel was killed. The worlds were probably split afterward. There are theories floating around that it was a fifth companion of Mithos who betrayed the party and caused Martel's death, but that one's not really jiving with me.

* There's a marked difference between his attitude towards Raine and Genis; the party is more confident that they won't be hurt if either of them is possessed by Mithos. However, Raine's is because 'Mithos wouldn't harm a fellow half-elf,' and Genis's is just because 'I don't think he'd hurt Genis.' Sigh, Namco.
