And we should totes thread Artemis and Alpha again. She loves how dignified he is and that he's actually clever and can speak! She can forgive his being a dog instead of a wolf, for that--it's not like it's his fault.
Iskierka is really fond of Turkey in a really sneaky way. She's one of the dragons who doesn't have a real allegiance in her heart to Britain; the only thing that keeps her following British orders instead of her own whims is that Granby is her captain and Granby just happens to be fighting for England. And we see that even that isn't enough to keep her in the country once the excitement of war settles down. She is a FREE SPIRIT.
Which is why she has no qualms about liking Turkey; she finds the countrypeople in general fascinating and as long as Turkey doesn't attempt to lure her back to the Ottomans or something then she is prepared to keep liking him. He's smart and interesting and treats her like an intelligent being and she counts him as a friend! She's not actually worried about his bribing her back to his side, since he's already explained that he's the Turkey of this weird alternate world where there are NO DRAGONS, OH MY GOD and also that he's historically too far ahead to still be concerned with the Napoleonic Wars.
She's also, you know, taking horribly enormous liberties with him re: getting him to arrange her pavilion's construction and whatnot! Her reasoning is that Turkey is a cool guy and they're not at war anymore and anyway if stuff changed and they were then maybe she could get Turkey to be Britain's ally again. But yeah, she has extra incentive to keep him around because he does things for her. :') SHE IS KIND OF A GOLD-DIGGER LIKE THAT OCCASIONALLY.
