There has been a shift in the Mithos-Apollo dynamic, actually! Mithos started out hating Apollo's guts and--not scared of him precisely, but scared of his abilities because he showed no qualms in going after Genis. Apollo is also important in the Mithos-Ganymede dynamic in that Mithos sort of...has to use his dislike of Apollo as an excuseto justify his liking of Ganymede. IT IS WEIRD; I put something about it down in my gigantor essay but I cannot fully figure it out either.

Mithos did change a lot in his attitudes since his first disastrous meeting with Apollo too, though! He's...learned to deal with Apollo a lot better, ironically because he's stopped feeling a lot of concern for his own well-being. And Apollo and Ganymede canon-updated too, and while Mithos never fully figured out what that was about, he got that itmeant Ganymede wasn't threatened by Apollo any longer, which he was cool with because Ganymede is one of the people he kind of casually stalks and tries to ensure the safety of(...badly.) Mithos himself has also stopped seeing Apollo as a threat and finds feuding with him more entertaining than scary now; he likes baiting the trollgod and he has a better idea of Apollo's boundaries and when to stop before Apollo gets it in his head to threaten Genis again. It breaks up the ennui of camp! Troll troll troll.

And Mithos sort of understands why Apollo does what he does because they are really similar people, but at the same time he doesn't examine his own actions/reasoning when he acts Apolloesque, so he also...doesn't understand. IT IS A BIZARRE MIRROR...RELATIONSHIP THING.
