J and I are going to the I.D.E.A. museum soon. They're open until six, then the Natural History (dinosaur) museum will be open from 6 to 10 and free, so once V and the gentleman arrive, we're making a night of it. There'll be a couple gallery openings and some street vendors, and music. It's small, but fun art night. I think there are supposed to be pirates somewhere in there, too. I imagine V will keep his father squarely in dinosaur territory, while J will be somewhat willing to be dragged around to see the art things.
I poked my head in the Mesa Center for the Arts Gallery earlier this week, and the one room dedicated to installation seemed to have a gigantic pinata amoeba taking over the space. The gallery opening is tonight as well. I've never been. I wonder if they'll leave off wine. It's a well curated space, but the whole town is founded by mormons, so they're downtown nightlife is differenter.
also, 'I used to love her' is more acoustic than I remember, and 'I wanna rock' is less operatic.
