[there were cats all over the world. Whether they were the large feral kind or the small tame variety, it didn't change the fact that Suzaku - despite being named after a legendary bird - had always been fond of cats. Sadly, the feelings had never been mutual. Apparently, being (technically) dead and in another world didn't change that very ( Read more... )

[If he considers having a curious wolf standing just a foot or so away, with a rice ball in her mouth, just watching with idle eyes full of amusement then yes. Yes his day could get much worse.

It seems as though the cat does not quite like you, sir. She silently teases. (There may even be a small grin forming around the snack stuffed in her mouth.)]

[over a year ago, Suzaku would have laughed with her. Now, he opts to politely ignore the stranger laughing at him in favor of gently pulling his hand out of the cat's mouth]

[much to his chagrin, it didn't seem to want to let go]

Now really isn't the time for this.

[this had to be Lelouch's fault somehow. Were Suzaku's flamboyant gestures as Zero not enough already?]

[Quiet laughter, but laughter none the less. She can be quite the non-gentle person when amusement rears its head.

However, despite what he does, it really does seem as though he's having a bit of trouble with that cat. Perhaps the animals were just as fond as him as they were of them? All animals - and even people - showed their affection in different manners. Even if it some were a little more violent and aggressive than others. Or perhaps he has a scent or taste that they cannot help but like?

With a more gentle smile on her face (and the rice ball now swallowed and happily eaten), Amaterasu walks over and kneels before both him and the animal attached to his hand. Would he be opposed to a little help in attempts to detach the cat?]

[he spares Amaterasu a brief glance before looking away again]

[for what it's worth, it wasn't as if he declined her help]

[Whether or not it was some kind of acknowledged "yes" or a vague "no" she planned on helping him anyway. It's in her nature to help out and stick her nose into business that's not her own. It more often or not brings up plenty of trouble that could have been avoided.

She gives him a small smile before setting one hand to the cats stomach and placing the other to its back - fingers moving in a soft, scratching motion.

Hopefully this will garner its attention and cause it to pull in on its "affection" towards this not-very-friendly-seeming guy.]

[and it does work, as the cat redirects it's attention towards the scratching and away from it's meal prey previous subject]

Meow~

[there's a brief sigh of relief before a very curt 'thank you' is spoken. But there's something about this woman that's caught his attention]

... Do I know you?

[The scratching really doesn't bother her much, as she has dealt with animals much larger than a little cat. While it's having its fun digging its claws into her clothes she looks to the boy and tilts her head. She had been just about ready to tell him that he was welcome, but the question catches her slightly off guard]

Ah?

[She points to herself. Me? She didn't think that they knew each other - after all, despite meeting so many people Amaterasu thought that she had a pretty good memory for faces and names, but he...was unfamiliar.]

Mm-mm.

[She shakes her head, the movement more unsure than it is making a firm statement.]

[Suzaku almost pulled the cat away again - biting be damned - but was distracted by the realization that the other woman was mute]

You're...?

[she vaguely reminded him of C.C. but in what way, he couldn't say. Still, if the other woman said they have never met then he wouldn't press]

My mistake then, I'm sorry.

[Amaterasu gives a small tilt of her head, fingers of her left hand now rubbing the area behind the cat's ears. It seems to calm the furry little creature down some and, for a moment, she almost wishes that she was able to take out the feeding bags that had come along with her from Nippon from that "inventory" that continuously taunted her.

The thought makes silver-white ears flick slightly, one swivels to press to the back of her head as the other keeps forward.]

Mm! [She waves her free hand before her, to the young man as if to tell that it was okay and he didn't need to apologize. It was a simple mistake that seemed to commonly happen from time to time.]

But she points to his hand then, the one that the cat hand been all over moments before. The way she does it, the way her expressions turns into thoughtful question, is apparent that she wants to know if he is okay.]
