It's not easy hearing everyone's spirits as music, especially when they are so low, possibly falling silent and disappearing. Even worse, the Elite Beat Agent turned Macabre Dancer can't help with the root of the problem.

What kind of area? [Sadly, he's still pretty much a noob. But, he's also very observant and he recognizes that type of sighing. He'd ask if it was work-related, but then 'work' here is pretty much... something else, right?] And what's wrong, Spin?

Have you tried using the Chaos Gate yet? It's that round spinning ring-like thing you first saw when you arrived here. That can bring you to different fields where you can fight monsters, gain items, and find treasure chests. Like in a video game.

It's... [How should he say this?] watching one day turn into another like it's just the next song in a never-ending playlist that doesn't want to play your favorite song.

I did, but... I didn't want to get lost in the middle of nowhere so I came back here. It didn't look very inviting, either...

Mmmm, is it a good song though? It might not be your favorite, but as long as it isn't screamo music...

There are a bunch of different areas and at different levels. It's better to have backup with you until you're at a high enough level. I sometimes go reading in one of the sunny fields.

I guess it's not bad, but it's a lot of waiting and muzak in the meantime. Skip a few songs sometimes, and the situation still stays the same.

Mm, okay. I guess I could try the sissy areas first. There are areas like that, right? It's kinda lame being stuck at level zero. [Okay so it's not exactly level zero, but it sure does feel like it.]

[laughs] All kinds of levels. I wouldn't mind showing you something a little higher than zero, but you'd have to leave most the fighting to me. Don't wanna get KOed from one or two hits from a higher up. Macabre Dancers have to get in close to attack.
