The last thing Colonel remembered was facing Zero in battle, remembered his loss, remembered the face of his sister passing through his mind before the end had caught him. He'd died in battle, died with a sword in his hand, proud and with no regrets.
And he'd woken up again in the middle of what seemed to be a town. Everything was different - his armor was gone, his sword as well, replaced by light clothing and a different blade that still somehow felt natural in his hand. He could feel a heart beating in his chest and blood running through his veins, under muscle and skin instead of metal and circuits.
Not only was he alive, he was human.)
