On arrival into Nhode, I've come face to face with people from other dimensions. And the rest of the IPF is reporting people missing from the Colony.

This is frustrating... it won't be too long before the Bureau puts out bounties... I can't let that happen...Any Japanese people who have found themselves outside of the Colony, please do not panic. ( Read more... )

Important to the Colony, hm? In what way, Commander?

They are Japanese people, Colonel. Users of pure ki. After the destruction of Japan, they have been made to remain in the Colony, and there are those who would wish to eradicate them for good. These two have managed to breach the barriers thanks to this new nexus, and for their own safety, they need to be found before they are harmed.

I see. The terminology is unfamiliar to me, but your meaning is fairly clear. I believe I've seen the woman "Baiken" comment and make posts, but I've never spoken with her, nor am I aware of her current location. I apologize for not being more helpful.

What is "ki," incidentally?

I apologise, Colonel. I will be more than happy to explain if you want. Ki is life energy, a core element in magic. Japanese people are able to use it to perfection, if honed, and this makes them a threat to the same enemies who were responsible for their eradication years ago.

I did however, get some books on the subjects you wished, and they contain details on ki as well, if you would like that instead.

Ahh, I see. There's something similar in my own world. So that's the reason, is it...

Ah, did you, Commander? Excellent; I appreciate it a great deal. Should we perhaps meet in Nhode in the near future to exchange them?

Is there, Colonel? May I ask what this similarity might be?

Ah, also... yes. I have been going after Baiken, but I shall stop by at Nhode whenever you deem appropriate.

In Auldrant, we call the basic particles of matter "fonons." There are six basic types, plus a seventh, and all things--both animate and inanimate--are made up of a combination of them. Those who are able to gather pure fonons and manipulate them into what you might call "spells" (we call them "fonic artes") are called fonists.

Would perhaps early next week work for you, Commander?

[Let me know what times what would work for you. X) I'm thinking Monday or Tuesday.]

Ah, I see. Magic serves as a basic form of energy in our world. These devices that we're using, are actually forbidden and we refer to them as blacktech but I suppose they are a necessary evil at this point.

As for meeting... I believe it would be reasonable. It will be an honor to make your acquaintance in person, Colonel.

[ Tuesday is good! :D]

Oh, no, the honor is all mine, Commander Kiske. I'll be sure to mark the date on my schedule.

[ ...it almost sounds like he's flirting... ]
