Unfortunately, Discedo, I seem to have very little to offer regarding pleasant conversation topics, so have another riddle or two, instead~
1 | Two fathers and two sons sat down to eat eggs for breakfast. They ate exactly three eggs, each person had an egg. How is this possible?
2 | Three lawyers rent a hotel room for the night. When they get to the hotel they pay the $30 fee, then go up to their room. Soon the bellhop brings up their bags and gives the lawyers back $5 because the hotel was having a special discount that weekend. So the three lawyers decide to each keep one of the $5 dollars and to give the bellhop a $2 tip. However, when they sat down to tally up their expenses for the weekend, they could not explain the following details:
Each one of them had originally paid $10 (towards the initial $30), then each got back $1 which meant that they each paid $9. Then they gave the bellhop a $2 tip. HOWEVER, 3 • $9 + $2 = $29
The lawyers couldn't figure out what happened to the other dollar. After all, the three paid out $30 but could only account for $29.
How is this possible?
3 | If you take three apples from five apples, how many do you have?
4 | How many eggs can you put in an empty basket?
5 | How many times can you subtract 6 from 30?
6 | It happens once in a minute, twice in a week, and once in a year. What is it?
7 | How can 7 be half of 12?
8 | What goes up and never comes down?
9 | What is the largest amount of money you can have in in coins (U.S. currency) without being able to make change for a dollar?
10 | A man is six feet tall, is a clerk at a butcher shop, and wears size 11 shoes. What does he weigh?
Do remember to screen your answers. It'd be a shame if you were to let others cheat, after all.
