Oh my good lord. This weekend was too fun for words, and i think you had to be there for a lot of it, but as usual i will continue on with myself and explain what happened. it most likely will be a long entry so you should abandon ship now if you dont have time.
alright, this week was congress/youth day. Wednesday night we went down to Anaheim in order to set up for YD the next day. So we are all waiting around for instructions for the overstressed Heather (Duck) Hardy who is in charge of Hall B Liturgy. Jacob and Matt play a little for practice I assume so we go and dance and sing with them. ooooh the fun-ness factor of it all. Then down by the backs etc. Until I teach all of SP kids the joy of spinning in a circle and walking in a straight line. OMG Tim is the WORST at this. He almost took out a full row of chairs. Dennis and Stich were highly competitive and were having races where they almost killed people. So practices went well and so we were able to go to Denny's! YAY!! Recap last from last year at Denny's: Taste the Rainbow and Moo! Last year had absolutely NOTHING on this year. I retold the pigeon story and Tim couldnt breathe for a solid two minutes and turned kind of a blueish red that became purple. We then moved on to where's Mary's and AJ's food?!?!? Robbie dancing and looking up music in the jukebox, unitl we found SALSA MUSIC!! Yay! Dolf tried to teach us but that was kind of not working. While dancing in the middle of Denny's we have to draw attention to the small child that was taking pictures of us from the corner booth. Walking back to the hotel, Stich got a balloon and we provided Dennis with a safety pin...just imagine the possibilities. Dennis got creative with sneak attacks from behind trees and bushes and people. haha...oh good times. Cant forget to retell Dennis's story. After a qucik rundown everyone went to their individual rooms, or so we thought. Dennis comes into our room like 2 minutes later and says "Sorry, I forgot something" and then doesnt touch anything in our room. 30 seconds later he says really scared "sorry, ok, there are weird people in my room. i poked my head in the room and people were laying in my bed." by this time we are all laughing on the floor. Apparently, he and Stich put their stuff on the bed visable from the door and Mira and Scott took that bed. Dennis kept complaining because he wanted to go to his room and shower but he couldnt because there were strange people in his room. haha. Alright so he goes back to the room with Stich and they learn that they need the extra bed that is in our room. They come back and take it. About 3 minutes later the bed is being plowed back into a room accompanied by complaints of not knowing which room was theirs. haha apparently they made 2 laps around our floor and could not find the room. OMG. That was way fun.
YOUTH DAY! Thursday. TONS of fun. Dennis and Stich were among the few that were actually dancing. YAY ignorant, pregnant THOUSAND OAKS!!! oops... saw the amazing Howie and Dennis Santos, bought the new Jacob and Matt CD, found the buses after all and sent everyone on their way. Chilled in the room and sent everyone ELSE on their way. Apparently buses and kids did not arrive in TO until 6 or 7 when expected around 5:30 because or rain, traffic, etc. Alright, quick nap, and then off to dinner at Buca Di Beppos. Yummy food and an even friendlier Mira. Gotta love flying ice cubes and sharing food with neighboring tables. HEATHER, DUCK! in the pope room... Oh and remember the nice server that didnt check our IDs...haha gotta love Bailey's coffee. Back to the hotel with 6 people crammed into Lesl's bug. Then "exploring time" with Mushi. Found the pool, the Health Club and other exciting things. Sleep time with Mushi under hostage.
FRIDAY!! Tim had a room to himself the night before and warned us not to come in because he might be naked...hmmm ok. haha I go in the next morning to take a shower and both beds are undone. i couldnt help it and had to ask Tim what happened last night. Apparently, he put the beds together last night because he was alone and wanted a REALLY BIG BED. haha SUCH a Tim answer. We all go to ALL of our sessions, pretty remarkable for us...and they were all VERY informative. Kinda gives me hope that things can be worked out. *Doug theme song* I SAW MY CLI LEADER! yay-ness! and I think he has a giflfriend. OH!!!! AND HOWIE HAS A GF!!! and shes way cute!! awwww i love him. Alright so we plan to go to Downtown Disney. Somehow Sergio and Joe ate with us and it was the best thing of my life. I was so close to peeing my pants sooo many times, good Lord. We wait for our table and see how other people have ballooon hats, animals, etc. so we get way excited. As we are waiting there, our soon to be friend, Richard, walks by and we ask him for animals. He tells us that we have to wait until we have ordered. We finally get seated. While eating chips and drinks, we start to play with the small children next to us. Tim and Sergio were killed multiple times in that twenty minutes and there were many kung fu moves exchanged between the small children and the bigger children. Our server comes and we order. By RANDOM, RANDOM chance, Richard walks by, and I flag him down. He makes us all balloon animals/ hats. The highlight was a pregnant dog, however. the dog had a bubble in its tummy and it was then pregnant. Once out of the restaurant, we affectionately named the baby Richard after its maker and showed everyone we could. We walked along Downtown Disney for a few hours and stopped random teenagers and asked them if they wanted to take a picture with the pope. Tim's balloon was a pope hat and loads of people took pictures with the pope. oh good times. Back to the hotel. Tim tells us that he is going to walk St. Rose kids back because they were in trouble and so we decide that we are going to the hotel. On the way there, Matt Maher and Steve, a composer, stop us and ask us about our crazy balloon animals. Good 10 minutes with the two of them and then tell them to llok out for the pope, because he would be coming soon. haha. oooh you gotta love it.
SATURDAY!! Walked out on a way boring session. Bought candy from cute little kids, and again, dinner with the boys. This time it was IHOP with Schnelly, Stacey and random girls in love with Joe. Important fact to consider when talking about Joe and Sergio...they are Seminarians. haha they have started the process to become priests, and are some of the coolest people I know. Oh and they are young. Sergio is 18 and Joe is 26. Alrighty. Tonight's dinner was way fun because Joe brought his guitar to dinner. We sang Good Riddance, I'll Be, and Goo Goo Dolls and recieved great applause after each song and even requests to sing again later from the table next to us. Fun stuff and then back to hotel for the dance!! The power kept going out but it was still way fun. Go random kids with crazy dancing skills and crazy swing dancers. Saw the older guy from SAW and had a bit of a convo with him. After the dance, we went back to the room around 1245. In the room, we have a 2 hour talking/singing session. Sergio and Joe were playing and we were all singing. We made songs about absolutely nothing and Megan...of course. haha LOVE YOU, ALL THE TIME! and the time came when Megan, Joe and myself were all asleep, and so the boys went back to their rooms, in SEPARATE BEDS, haha im such a dork. and we were left with the image of Sergio telling us that he was going to grow his hair long so that he could look like Rico, Rico Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuave!
Sunday!! Skipped the first session because we were all way too tired. and then went shopping. I went to the last session and it was way bizarre. Went to the pizza place and said goodbye to the boys and then headed for home. 5 people in the the bug. Not too comfortable. It was alright tho. In and Out flood in the car, lol.
I got sick around Saturday and still kind of am, so pray that I get better soon because im going to San Francisco on Wednesday. Beck, if youre reading this, call me. I hope you had a good time at Kairos, at school or whatever you decided to do this week. I love you all sooo much! I will see most of you tomorrow and if I wont, then we need to get together.
