SO. THERE I WAS.
One Year Ago
Me: Wow, Bleach is awesome. Screw what fandom says, Orihime's especially crazy awesome! But I just got Hakufu and I'm content with her, so I will suppress the urge to app her because they are similar. Oooh, Nanao is shiny! MUST APP HER!
Three Months Ago
Me: I kind of want to app Orihime somewhere. Tell me I

...OH WAIT, that's right, you rejected my app because I apparently "don't know anything about her character", and "didn't portray her as happy-go-lucky/cheerful enough", even though I'm taking her from the Hueco Mundo arc, which you admit in the post above has changed her character dramatically.
Even though I play her in bleach_dressing and have never received any negative crit while playing her there. In fact, I've been given compliments as to how I play her. And because she's from the Hueco Mundo arc, I allow her to be BOTH cheerful with her comrades, AND occasionally angsty -- which you seem to think is an impossibility for her character. I guess the answer to that is, that...it's not.
But apparently you're *at* BDR and already know this, and you have even expressed to others that you liked the UlquiHime interaction that was played out there.
So in reality, you rejected my app because you wanted to play her.
Ooops.

I also must correct your timeline there - you apped her April 9th. There was a brief comment to Keigo along the lines of "Geez, I'm writing so much to her about this app that maybe I should app her myself", and then we waited the three days for you to put in a reapp and when you didn't get back to us, I shrugged and put the idea on the shelf. That's also part of the reason I originally was only going to app her at CFUD, among other things (like her fitting into a crack game better and there originally being more Karakura folks there). And even then, I didn't decide to app her there until April 19th. And really, the only reason I decided to app her in Micro AT ALL was because Tibarn volunteered to app Tatsuki if I did ( ... )

Bottom line is, you're the mod and you can do whatever you like, right?
It is something I feel bad about, but don't really know how to address it. Maybe that's your conscience trying to tell you something.

I'm caught in the middle of this because you are both my friends - so here is my tuppenth.
I originally invited becoming_rain to join me at micro after playing a long CR with her at BDR, and had no idea she would be rejected her app.
I believed for sensitivity-sake that if another Hime app was being done it should have been delayed, or the first Hime app-er notified in case she was thinking of re-apping.
This said, what's done is done. I've lost a CR I held close to me over this, and am sad over it. I don't want it to blow up any further. Can we please just forget it, I only want to rp, have fun and stay friends.

I too would have liked to have been notified, because even though a few weeks had gone by, I was still interested in re-applying, despite the heavy-handed email I'd received about her characterization. Seeing as it was a mod who'd already emailed me about it, the least that could have been done was a courtesy notification.
I appreciate you mentioning this.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way. In most RPs, if not all of them, if a character is not on the taken list, then they are free to apped by anyone. Microcosm does not have a reserve list, and so when holyfight was told to app Orihime by the people who wanted to see her play the character, she did so.
Just because she's a mod of the RP that the character was apped at, doesn't mean she needs to bend backward to notify someone who, in our eyes, no longer had any interest in playing the character.
You had your chance to re-app her, and after over a month of it not being taken, someone else took her. I don't know if you play anywhere but the Bleach dressing room, but that's the way it works. I'm sorry.
This discussion is over. Please stop trying to make a big deal out of something that isn't.
