Why not? (Sorry Sawyer.)

Title: Skimming the Surface
Fandom: LOST
Pairing: Jack/Shannon
Disclaimer: The characters of Lost are not mine, I make no money off their fictional corruption.
Summary: Love in three parts. A tragedy.
A/N: Here I am, rolling the dice. Beware the Het my children and thanks for the support.

They haven't come out and said what this is - if its anything at all. Jack just waits and does what he can, takes whatever comfort she can offer, and offers whatever she wants to take. )

LEE.

You have made MY DAY. My week, even. I am just..OH MAN. I love you. xD

My two favorite parts; He likes her disheveled. Likes when she lets her guard down, when she comes to him at night, with tired eyes and open arms. When she kisses him and begs him to make her feel less scared, more whole, something. Anything beyond hunger and sunburn and the bitter aftertaste of another argument with her brother.

and

Shannon doesn't push, and maybe that is why he feels the pull. She doesn't try to get his attention. She's just there in his line of vision, off to the left or right, a ray of sunshine he has to turn away from to get anything done.

*loves* I want mooooore Jack/Shannon!

Awh yay! I'm so glad to provide! :) (Not sure how much more J/Shannon is in me, but you never know. My muse is loco.)

I really miss Shannon. I liked exploring her character. She and Jack are very hot together. So I'll try. Definitely. Thanks!

I'm going to sit back and bask about how magnificent this was. Because Shannon was the only blonde I ever liked on that island (well...aside from Sawyer, of course), and the dynamic of S1 would have been really interesting if it had been her and Jack instead of her and Sayid. Then maybe Sayid would have been with Kate, which is my other secret het coupling. ;)

Loved it!

:)

I think it's fabulous and hilarious that we all have secret Het pairings.

So glad this worked for you. I miss Shannon. And I really think her and Jack could have had some good times together. Too bad the writers had to throw her to the wolves.

Oh.

I adore the outside look at Shannon here through Jack's eyes, and the slow realization that comes to him - as always - too late. You wrote her so well; honest and herself despite what others may think, but still warm and sure. I love that so so much.

This is wonderful. Miss it, miss you (of my own violation, but still.) ♥

Oh yeah that sooo happened right after this last scene. He finds Jack all depressed and makes his move. ;)

Wow.

I don't know what's wrong with me today, but I can't articulate anything, so I'll just give you a few lines I thought were particularly interesting.

The irony:
She's passionate like Achara, but with no deception, no hidden secret waiting to ruin something simple.

This strikes me as sad, somehow, and also totally Jack:
It's what he likes most of all. The way Shannon's buttons are easily pushed, the fact that if this is a game, he at least knows the rules. What he'll get if he plays his cards right.

...as is this:
It's strange and tragic, how he can never learn from his mistakes. How he always ends up right back here, losing.

And I love this:
All Jack did was allow himself to skim the surface. All he did was watch her do the same because it was all that he could handle.

:) Thank you love. I really appreciate you reading.

And quoting will always substitute when articulation is impossible.
