First order of business, here are the pics from Zombie Prom that I promised:
Basically the whole thing looked like this. I never said it was a *large* prom.
But as soon as I arrived, shyness struck! The people I first planned to meet up there were either sick, working, or just plain didn't show up.
This made me a sad Spork. :(
But then other people I knew showed but, and met some new people, and off we go!
That is Captain America you see there. A guy dressed as Captain America showed up for Zombie Prom. But to be fair, the prom was the day before Halloween, and there were also some catgirls running around, so... yeah.
The whole prom was basically dancing/flailing around wildly. This is the first dance I've been to since I was in middle school (yes, my middle school had "dances"), so I'm going to go ahead and assume this is normal.
Some more flailing.
Another thing was that there were two guys who had set up a "Zombification Station". Basically you go over to them and one guy puts some makeup to make you look pale and bruised, and the other guy splatters fake blood on you with reckless abandon. I decided to give this a try. This is the result:
Rawr.
The downside to this is that the stuff made my face itch, but I didn't want to get foundation and fake blood everywhere. But it came off easily enough when I got back to the dorm. (But the night host did ask if I had been in a fight. To which I un-smartly replied "Maybe~".)
Couple more photos:
Whenever our little group got bored of dancing, what we would do is grab one of the white beach-ball type things that were floating around (I didn't get a good picture of them, sorry) and basically start tossing them around to each other. Then we'd drop the ball a lot, get bored, and return to dancing. Rinse and repeat. And I had some Hopefully-Not-Spiked-Punch(tm). It was good. And not spiked.
And there were zombies dancing to "Thriller". And "Staying Alive". And "Monster Mash". And "Ghostbusters". It was kinda epic.
...And that's Zombie Prom. It was pretty fun, even though I got a bit nervous at the start. I'm not really big on parties or loud dances, but this was fun, especially since I actually knew some people.
The only other thing worth noting about my life is that I've been forced decided to take part in NaNoWriMo this year. I have nothing done (>1,000 words nothing), but I never had much expectation of getting this done at all. I'm still going to try, but I'll fail miserably. But I guess that isn't the point, right? The point is just trying to write? I'm trying to write something original for NaNoWriMo, because I almost never do, but all the things I feel like writing are relatively short fan fics. I'm considering switching to a fic, but I don't think that'll work out. :(
Moping done. G'bye. Don't get eaten on your way home.
