pony party

I was planning on going away for my 5 year anniversary without the kids but the hotel we want has blackout dates for the honor points we use, so we can't stay. And then we thought we'd just stay at the condo anyway, but John's grandma's cousin or someone is coming from Baltimore to stay on the weekend we could go. So that's not going to happen. :(
So now I'm planning Lily's birthday party. We are going to do a pony party with a cute little western cowgirl theme.
I mean, that's what I'm planning for, but Johnny said something like "can't we just go to Disney instead" so who knows, maybe we will end up just going to Disney again. :/
Anyway I want to do the pony party so my dad helped me make up this invite, it's so cute!

and Lily would look so beautiful in something like this

the only snag is that it's very expensive and I'm having trouble with the number of people I'd invite. Maybe
you all can give me some advice on that. If we do the horse trail ride it's $30-35/person
which is pretty reasonable... But I'd like to invite all the grandparents (that's 5 total) and the girl's favorite Aunt and Uncle, Missy and Jeff.
And Johnny's Aunt Anna, just because she is always interested in the girls which is more than I can say for other family members (John's dad)
So that's 8 people plus Johnny and I which is 10 (girls don't count b/c they'd ride with us)
Ok so whew 10 x 30 = 300. and then food and party supplies. Probably looking at 500 bucks. !  And Lily wants to invite a friend or two from school.
BUT if I invite johnny's sister Missy I HAVE to invite his sister Mandy, and her son Nathan. Which would be ooookay, I guess...
but then now she has this boyfriend she had the baby with, and HE'S got two tweens, I don't even know their names. So would I have to invite ALL of them? I feel like I'd have to because you can't really just invite half of a family, can you? And I know, it's Lily's party and 'invite whoever I want!' but family dynamics and trying to not do family drama and you know..
So that's wayyyy more than we want to spend. But now that I think about it Great Grandma Mimi might not ride, and his dad might be out of town on work...

The other option is to just rent a pony for $100/hr and let the kids take turns riding it and then having games and stuff for everyone, if we went that way we'd probably end up spending about $300 total. (still, ouch) Oh and I forgot that I have to get Lily a custom made teenage mutant ninja turtle cake! But I really wanted everyone to be able to go on the horse riding trail... ugh. Can't ask people to pay for themselves. I am kind of stymied.

This is why J said we should just go to Disney again. Even though we were just there in January. And it will be way more crowded, and hotter, in May.

ok so this is good, it's keeping me busy even though it's stressing me out.
For party favors I'd fill little 'glass' boots with stuff, it would be so sweet! Have a little horse pinata and a "WANTED" picture booth and all.
It would be really adorable!!!
