So our dryer finally gave up the ghost a few days ago. I've been having to drag my baskets of wash to my mom's house who is thankfully letting me do some laundry there. She lives super close but it is still a big pain in the ass.
The timing could be better, and I'm bummed we'll have to spend the dough to get a new one so close to the holidays... but I'm also uber happy because now I get to have a new dryer!
That's not something you buy if your old one does the job, but I really want a nice new dryer!
And I can't believe how excited I get about something having to do with chores! An appliance, for pete's sake. I must be getting old.
Johnny is 4 cars away from hitting a nice bonus, I think like 3 grand. That would be so so so very nice to have in the bank esp with said new dryer expense and two little girls who want EVERYTHING for christmas. Knowing our luck, though, he will probably sell 3 before the deadline.
I'm trying to help him out as much as I can though, running ads on Craigslist and making a general nuisance of myself to everyone I know, asking if anyone needs to buy a new.. or used! car. I kind of just wish we had one of those catalog books that the fundraisers give to kids to take around to everyone's work and you buy some cookies or gift wrap because you feel bad and get suckered in. I need one of those! And Ella and Lily could take it around. We'd sell out of cars, with those babies on our side!
We're going to skip Thanksgiving this year and Johnny is going to try to take a vacation, which has never happened before! Lily desperately wants to see snow, but I don't think that will happen this time around. We're thinking maybe Disneyland, though. Ella is sad that Lily got to go without her (for Lily's 3rd birthday). I was thinking we could all go for Ella's birthday in January, but Johnny thought maybe over Thanksgiving the park would be less crowded, plus Lily would be on break and wouldn't have to miss any school.
Speaking of Lily's school, she's been way excited about the firefighters coming to have lunch with them tomorrow. She wants to ask if they have a dalmatian, and also if they would save her stuffed animals if her house was on fire. lol!
Oh! And my mom just adopted a beagle from the pound, she named her Mocha. I don't really like beagles but that dog is so dopey and funny. If my dad ever comes back from the Philippines he will sure be surprised!
Everything has been pretty normal around here, I'm reading ebooks like mad and cleaning like crazy as usual. Feeling a little stressed and depressed about holidays coming up, but that always happens to me this time of year and I'm trying to get around it. We'll see.
Oh, and Amanda! I was surfing on Zulily.com this AM and they have a whole category in their 'last day' section for owl decorations! I couldn't help but think of you!
