What? I can't imagine what you could be reading that would make you think you've come off that way. You certainly haven't to me! On the other hand, I sometimes read back my own comments to you (and others) and realize I sound incredibly bossy, controlling, demanding, and suuuuuuuper judgmental! I am all those things, not trying to deny it, but I am usually hardest on people in my friend's lives, rather than my actual friends. It's something I need to work on, but have no real inclination to bother with. :/

I don't know, I just felt like a lot of my posts or comments seemed judgmental or boastful, somehow. Either that, or I come off like a super bleak, dreary, depressing lunatic. lol
I'm glad you don't think that. Probably it's just me in my own head. I'm pretty harsh on myself most of the time.
I love your comments and I can't think of a one that made me upset or angry. You're crazy, lady! Having an opinion is not the same as being judgmental! Caring for your friends is also not a bad thing, silly!
When we love our friends we want all the people in their lives to love them the same way we do! I think so many people just accept the love they think they deserve, and a lot of them don't put much value on themselves, so they end up with crappy people in their lives, and then they have friends like you who tell them that! Which is good!
I don't even know what I'm saying or if it made sense, but in my head it totally did! ;)

Lol, it makes sense. Mean or not, I have no plans to curb my Miranda ways (are you a Sex & the City fan? please tell me you are; I love it so much!) - I'm the person who tells my friends what they need to hear! My bff, who left her POS husband a few years ago, was telling me the other day that she would probably still be with him, if it weren't for all my encouragement that she deserved so much more and the confidence I instilled in her. She says she just copied me, the ever-confident one, till it started to catch on for her, too. Now, she's with someone amazing and feels great about herself! I'm not out to ruin all my friends' relationships or anything... I just think a lot of people are with mates that are really, really bad for them!

oh no, you're going to hate me! I've never seen one single episode of Sex & the City!
I usually hate most things that are, you know... chick flick-ish. I like action and humor! I don't like... romance and witty banter and girlfriends with all their camaraderie. ugh.
haah maybe I avoid those things cuz they depress me.
But, I mean, I don't live under a rock, so I know who the characters are, like SJP was Carrie who married some dude named Mr Big, and there's a bisexual one? haha and the older one Kim Cattrall(?) is like a maneater. That's how popular that show is, I know that without having seen a single one!

That's awesome that your friend was able to do that for herself, and that you could help her in that way. That takes a lot of courage!

I don't think you sound jerkish! I think I come across whiny and spoiled a lot :/

What is this flashlight teabag?!

My LJ friend from Newfoundland is stuck in NYC right now for her 30th birthday!

Thanks! It must be all in my head, then!

LOL at flashlight teabag! Maybe you are posting from your phone or maybe you misread? But flashlight tag is really fun, and when we had hurricane parties when I was younger we would play.. it's kind of a mix of hide and seek and tag, played with flashlights of course because of the power being out. Usually a little drunk too haha

Here's two different ways to play!

I feel so badly for your friend, and everyone in NYC! I have only just watched the news last night, so I had no idea how bad it was! It's awful! I was crying my face off when they did a story on the two little boys they found (2&4, same as mine!) who had been washed out of their mom's arms and drowned. ugh. All those people struggling! I can't imagine. I'm glad all we got was wind and rain!
As for your friend, I hope she's safe and... at least she's having an adventurous, memorable birthday! haha
